E/O Drabble Challenge
Challenge Phrase: CROW
Word Count: 100 words on the nose for the drabble itself. Bonus section not counted.
Other players in the challenge are now too many to list here! There're lots of people planting these Supernatural flowers. You can find the list of names at Enkidu07's profile page and/or OnyxMoonbeam's profile page. Also, to find all of the lovely drabbles, there's a sweet little C2 community out there to subscribe to and enjoy. You can find the link on their profile pages mentioned above.
Disclaimer: Neither the boys nor anything related to Supernatural belongs to me. I'm just having some fun with the boys, playing around with Eric Kripke's sandbox.
IT'S MURDER
By: Vanessa Sgroi
Dean eyed the obsidian crow perched high above on the gutter of the ramshackle Tudor. It spread its wings, cocked its head, cawed, and tucked the wings away.
"I don't like the looks of that crow, Sammy."
"It's fine. It's just a bird."
"I'm telling you…"
The crow drifted down, settling in a nearby tree. It cawed loudly—much more loudly than it should've. An answer caw came from somewhere nearby. More screeching cries joined in.
Soon the brothers found themselves surrounded by a murder of crows as they stood back to back. Dean swallowed hard. "Just a bird, huh?"

Bonus Section:
Here are a few of my older poems about crows that seemed fitting. I thought I'd share with everyone. Hope no one minds.
The Crows
The once fair-weathered crows,
they sit,
high upon their tense wire.
Watching.
Cawing and cackling
with mad glee
at the destruction
they wrought.

Last Stand
Encroaching darkness,
defeat riding the gleam
of a cawing crow's wing.
Last stand on shaky ground.
Quicksand eager to hasten
silent suffocation.

Wake Up Caw
The caw-caw-cawing of
the crow on the curb
rings rowdy and raucous
on the muggy morning air.
Noisily, he natters to
his partner, his mate,
who answers animatedly
from raised rooftop.
A full-mouthed morning
wake up caw.
