A/N: Just a little drabble that came into mind.
He slyly watches her, perched on a nearby barstool. He's not sat with her- but they are undoubtedly close. Not physically, but really, they spend an escalating amount of time together.
She's wearing a skirt, he notes. And then it suddenly comes to him. Yeah. They're close, so he decides to ask, because she's undeniably cute, and he can't say he isn't weirdly attracted to her.
Because he is.
Really.
But he won't admit it to her. Yet.
Not that it means anything anyway. One mere date. No harm done, right?
Wrong. It only leads to another. And he genuinely concludes that isn't bad.
Certainly.
"Lucy." He idly calls, casually walking through her apartment as if he lives there.
As suspected, she's busy, delicately beating Natsu up for trespassing.
He finds this remotely attractive.
The fridge door randomly flies open, and Happy appears. "Oh, Gray." He hovers over. "Fish?"
He is ignored.
"Lucy." Gray repeats again, his voice sultry and austere. "I need to ask you something."
"Gray? Are you here to violate my appliances too?" And her grip tightens on Natsu. He cringes a little.
"No."
She momentarily stops pulling Natsu's hair, elegantly turning her attention to him. Natsu skilfully collapses in a heap on the floor.
She blinks, unexpectedly taken back. "Then what?"
Damn her stupid face. Why is it so, cute?
"Um," he stammers, and goes sort of rigid. "Wouldyouliketogoona-date?"
She comically stares for a few seconds, then raises a brow. "Are you asking me out on a date?"
A coy smile. "I think so. I'm not entirely certain." And he stares a little more. She's far too cute for her own good, yes.
"I'll go."
Gray coughs. "Wait-what? Really-wait. WHAT? I mean, yeah?"
Lucy's idea of a date conjures thoughts such as romantic strolls, five star dining, and yeah, all that overrated.. stuff.
And Gray's idea of a date includes her enthusiastically cheering him on while he brawls with Natsu. In a cheerleading outfit, too. Maybe.
"I'll go." She blurts again, blushing. "But I'd prefer if you had some decency," She squeaks, "And put your pants back ON."
"-Aye," Happy agrees. Natsu laughs manically at the scene.
And Gray lets out a girly scream. For he is naked.
