(A/N: My first Time Traveler's Wife fic! I'm not totally sure how much I like this…I think Henry and Clare might be kind of out of character, and I don't like the last line that much, but it was too short without it. And obviously, Henry never really visited Clare when he was 33 and she was 15. I just made it up. Unless he did in the book and I don't remember because I'm too lazy to look. I should stop before this is longer than the story…Enjoy!)
Average
(Henry is 33, Clare is 15)
Clare's hand moves quickly across the paper as she sketches Henry.
"Henry?" she says, looking up from the paper and meeting Henry's eyes.
"Yes, Clare?"
"Do you ever wish you were normal? I mean, you wouldn't be whisked away to whenever, you would just stay…stay in the present."
"Well," Henry answers, frowning thoughtfully. "Yes, for the obvious reasons. And…no."
"No?" Clare repeats, accidentally drawing a line across the page that ruins her drawing. "Why not?"
"If I were normal…I wouldn't have met you."
Clare can't help a smile from spreading across her face.
(A/N: Did Henry and Clare ever have a conversation like this? It seemed kind of familiar, but I'm too lazy to check in the book. Also, let me know if you see any typos. Reviews are love!)
