Summary: The past is done, but the future looks promising.
The sheer number of emotions she'd felt so far that day astounded her. She started out giddy at the prospect of her high school life being over. Then she thought about it too long and apprehension set it. Which quickly shifted to sadness as she toured the well-travelled hallways of Kennedy High getting every person she recognised, friend of acquaintance, to sign it and prompted an onslaught of 'I'll probably never see these people again'. Then came the anxious feeling in the pit of her stomach as she took the stage alone, and then with the rest of her classmates - where it fell to exhilaration at the ceremonial throwing of the caps.
And now, she was back in her room at the Palace feeling the anticlimax of it all.
"It's over." Brooke's voice floats to her, pulling her lips into a smile.
"Yeah. We're free." Sam watches the blonde's elegant movements as she saunters towards her.
"My favourite part was your little victory dance when you threw your cap in the air." Sam's smile is tugged uncontrollably until she's beaming, albeit a little shyly. But Brooke is biting her lip in a way that fixes her gaze. "I think I want a reply." Hazel eyes are hooded and smouldering as she comes to a stop in front of Sam, and waits.
"Seriously?" Brooke nods. Sam complies, swaying her hips and pulling off an imaginary hat. At that point, Brooke stops her.
"You know, it's just not quite the same." Brooke holds a finger to her lips in mock-thought, eyes raking over Sam's body, making her skin burn. Then locks their gazes once more. "Something definitely needs to be removed." Sam laughs throatily, easing her fingertips underneath her t-shirt and pulling it over her head.
And Brooke does a little victory dance of her own before pouncing.
