Day After Day
Disclaimer: This poem is based on the Suite Life, from Zack's POV. Thus, I don't own the Suite Life, but I do own the poem.
A/N: This poem is also based on my Suite Life fanfic, Unloved. If you read the story you'll better understand the poem, even though the story isn't quite completed.
A/N2: I did have the poem in stanzas, but that went away when I got it on the site. Well, it was going to be a song, but...
I never knew it'd feel like this,
Being all alone
Never getting to pick up the phone
Nobody caring, nobody helping
And day after day
I look back at where I've been
Look at where I'm at,
Look at where I'm goin'
And it doesn't look too bad
I tried to face my fears,
Tried not to shed any tears;
But no matter how hard I tried,
I always started to cry
But I never knew what it'd really mean
Never knew what my brother had really seen
He knew I'd go bad,
And a part of me said to do it for him
And day after day
I look back at where I've been
Look at where I'm at,
Look at where I'm goin'
And it doesn't look too bad
Then he died, died at my hand
It wasn't supposed to happen,
But he left me all alone,
Never gave me the chance to pick up a ringing phone
Years before, Mom had gone
And it was then that things went wrong
I rarely again sang a song,
Never again did he and I have the same bond
And day after day
I look back at where I've been
Look at where I'm at,
Look at where I'm goin'
And it doesn't look too bad
Then there was the love of my life,
The reason I went through a lot of strife
But I failed, I failed in catchin' her eye
And we broke apart, no longer even friends
That was the end
The end of everything
No longer could I sing
No longer could I feel loved
They left me, ever single one
I was alone, left all alone
With a silent phone
And no matter what I did
Nothing would ever be the same
It was the end of everything I ever knew
Left alone, not wanted
Just a burden to the world
And day after day
I look back at where I've been
Look at where I'm at,
Look at where I'm goin'
And it doesn't look too bad
Black eyes, many scars
They remind me of the days
That I spent on the run or behind bars
The ones in a gang
The days that I no longer sang
My tune dropped 'til it was there no more
And I had lost my very core
I had friends now, just a gang
But what did it matter?
In that rearview mirror
I see my greatest fear
I see my past, trying to make me who I was
Once more
And day after day
I look back at where I've been
Look at where I'm at,
Look at where I'm goin'
And it doesn't look too bad
My past has shaped me,
It's made me see
All those days,
They weren't for nothin'
I learned, I changed
My tune got higher,
'Til I was on fire
No one could stop me, I knew who I was
And day after day
I look back at where I've been
Look at where I'm at,
Look at where I'm goin'
And it doesn't look too bad
A/N3(Man, do I have a lot of these)The song in the above piece of writing is referring to something else. Maybe you can figure out what it is.
