Houston, the Very Well Intended Thief

"Is your dinner good guys?" Jackie asked the kids as she, Nick, and the kids were at a restaurant on a Friday night.

She and Nick decided to take the kids out to eat to celebrate Jasmine and Houston going back to school.

"Yeah." The kids answered her.

"Ice cream?" Karlie asked.

"After dinner, yes, we'll have ice cream." Jackie assured her.

As promised after they had finished their dinner the family enjoyed some ice cream.

Nick went up to the counter to pay the bill while Jackie dug some money out of her purse so she could leave a tip.

"Ok guys, let's go." Jackie told all the kids after she had left the money on the table for the tip.

"Dada?" Sloan asked.

"He's coming, he's just got to pay for our dinner." Jackie assured him.

Jackie led the kids out to the car.

"Here mama, you forgot your monies on the table." Houston told her as he handed her money with a smile, thinking he had helped his mommy out by grabbing her money for her.

"Oh honey, that's nice of you, but sweetheart, mommy didn't forget her money, mommy left the money on the table for the nice lady that brought us our food." Jackie explained.

Houston was surprised, apparently his good deed had been for not.

"What's wrong?" Nick asked as he came around to the side of the car where Jackie and Houston were.

"He grabbed the tip money off of the table and gave it back to me." Jackie answered.

Nick chuckled.

"You finish buckling the kids in their car seats, I'm going to go run this back inside." Jackie told him.

"Ok." Nick told her.

Jackie went back inside the restaurant and found their waitress.

"Here, my son thought I forgot my money on the table and grabbed it for me but it was actually your tip, I'm sorry." Jackie told her with a smile, she was embarrassed.

"Oh, thank you, and that happens more than you think, kids don't understand and they are just trying to be helpful." The waitress responded with a kind and understanding smile.

"Yes. They are." Jackie agreed.

"Thanks again, have a nice night."

"You too, thank you." Jackie said before leaving the restaurant again.

As she walked outside to rejoin her family Jackie couldn't help but smile, yes it was true Houston had stolen the money but like the waitress said he was just trying to be helpful.

Houston had been a very well intended thief!
