Watch the Might Skyline Fall
By Vixen
Willow studied the sky for a moment; it was a lifeless gray color that depressed her even further. The sun would never shine again Sunnydale. Maybe it would be different out there in the world... somewhere out there.
Placing her newborn daughter in the backseat, she cautiously secured the belt buckle. Willow gave her child another quick look to make sure that her precious darling was comfortable before turning towards her husband, "Are you coming? We have to leave now."
"Just waiting to see the smoke clear."
Willow wrapped her arms around his waist, "We did it. Everything you wanted."
"It's all gone."
"Yes, it is." She looked up into his dark eyes, so full of determination, maybe a little fear. Ever since Buffy had kicked her out of the Summers' house, right after her magick spree and the car crash that had injured Dawn's arm, Willow had been a different person. It had brought everything into focus. She was strong, and powerful, and she had finally destroyed all the painful memories that the town could hold.
From up on that lush green cliff, looking over the burning wreckage of the small town she smiled at the breathtaking fireworks they had made, a beautiful blend of technological science and unexplainable magick.
"The fames were everywhere
But no one really cared
It had always burned up there before" – Billy Joel
