Dreams.
An illusion. A trick of the mind, with endless meanings. They could hold the answer to a burning question. They could cheer you up, or send shockwaves through you. Well, that's how she saw them anyway. A comfort. Or a distraction.
Her dreams were all she had. Ever since she realised he wasn't all he was cracked up to be. He'd deserted her when she needed him most. He simply wasn't there. He was almost there.
Everywhere she looked, she saw a brick wall. Something holding her back. Stopping her from moving forwards. She couldn't quite put her finger on it though. Something told her to stop. Tangled in a web, of lies. Betrayal and greed.
Something she simply didn't know how to repair.
She's a doctor. Doctors fix things all the time. Broken bones, wounds and minds. All fixed.
So then, why couldn't she fix this? All these complex medical problems, and she can't repair this.
