Anyone gettin tired of seeing me come up?
Well, sorry but I had this idea for a long time and decided to give it a go.
Takes place during the stories after Nora goes home.
"Another day, another no-show." Sighed Nora Hayley Prowler.
Ever since she got home from Coral Grove and stopped a conspiracy that had involved both the past generations of her family and her new friends, she had been waiting to talk to her father. She found out that he had designed the security for the prison and was waiting to ask him if his involvement had been only in the designs or if his knowledge went even deeper than that. However, it had been days since she walked through the front door and no matter how late she seemed to wait, Nora's father didn't show any signs of coming home.
Messages were piling up on their phone, all for Henry Prowler, as Nora's friends were giving her time to sort this out. Nora hadn't been called back to the school yet, so she didn't know if she was even allowed to come. Tomorrow was Monday, but Nora didn't show any signs of worrying or eagerness to leave the house. If anything, she felt depressed. Her list of 'People Who Betray' now included her great-grandfather and her own father. "Dad, if your innocent just come home and tell me." She said into her pillow.
Nora's room had several colors of purple, and magenta (that she considered different), there was white and floral design mixed in but nothing too girly. Her father acknowledged that his daughter was an able fighter when she need to be, but to he still call her his little angel. He had helped her and even bought many of the décor in the thought of keeping a happy and cheerful atmosphere where they could both feel safe. But now all those feelings of security were dissolving into confusion. Nora wondered if it was all part of him keeping her ignorant from the truth or it was from some guilty consciousness that he was doing something so wrong he had to spoil her and keep his only family safe in contrast to the people he was hurting.
Nora had stayed up until morning a few times, just waiting for him to get home. She worked out, cooked, cleaned, studied, anything to keep her concentrated and awake for him to come. Though she didn't even try to get her homework done, watch the news or call her friends, something was keeping her from going back to the outside world. Maybe seeing how dark it really was? That her trust of the world was shattered along with the trust of her family? Nora didn't think about it. She just thought of what she wanted to say to her father the minute he came through that door. But honestly, all that work and little rest, Nora was forced to admit that she needed a nap. So laying down face first in her room, Nora allowed all thoughts of the past months to leave her head and she pretended she was content and safe in her own room.
What the clock showed to be just three hours later, Nora was awakened suddenly by a loud crash! Her room was on the second floor, along with her dad's a guest room and his private book room. The hallway also housed a few family pictures and little decors that her dad brought to make the house looked more lived-in. To Nora's knowledge all the windows and doors were locked closed, so there shouldn't be any wind to knock anything over. Thus her mind jumped to the worst conclusion: intruder!
"Long staff, long staff, long staff!" Nora looked around her room but couldn't find it. She'd have to take care of whoever was in her house on her own. She went to her doorway and saw a flash of deep red zip by her. "The tazelwurm?" Nora hadn't seen the creature in a long time, it stopped upon hearing its name, "How did you get in my house?" In response the reptile hissed at her and leaped down the stairs!
"Hey!" Nora chased after it, worried it would break more of the things in her house. Which their chase nearly did. The taz got Nora down the stairs, almost knocked over three lamps, twelve pictures, an entire bookcase, and seven plates if Nora hadn't been right there to prevent it. At which point she had already had enough of this house guest.
"Taz! I don't care how you got it, but you're going out!"
It hissed in challenge for her to catch it and Nora accepted without a second thought. "Get back here you stubby, over-glorified mythical salamander!"
Nora chased the creature all the way to her dad's private study. Earlier she had thought it was locked, but the taz simply pushed it open with his nose and slipped right in. "Okay Taz, end of the line. Now-" Nora had never actually seen the inside of this room since they moved, it had been shrouded in darkness from the hallway, but she assumed it would be an ordinary office. However, everything ended right at the doorway. There was no room in there. Just a black void that Nora found herself falling in!
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!"
Nora couldn't tell where she was going, just that it was very far down! "What is going ooooonnnnnnn!?"
"Just follow the tazelwurm." A woman's voice said.
"O. M. G! Who are you?" Nora couldn't see anyone, it was all darkness and wind.
"Relax!" the voice laughed. "You're a little late, but this is a party is for you. The decorations are up and all we need is the guest of honor! Just enjoy the view, Nora!"
"Are you insane?! There's nothing to see!" Nora was scared. How long was going to fall? There was only one thing to happen if she kept falling at this speed."
"That's because you're looking up and around. Try looking down the path you're on. After all, that's the only way you can go."
Nora looked down to see that she was actually falling toward a light. A bright light that was becoming bigger and brighter! So bright in fact, that Nora had to close her eyes and shield her face as the distance closed. "Hurry now, Nora!" the woman's voice urged. "Everyone's been waiting a long time. Get to the tea party!"
"This is a kidnapping!" Nora accused. "You're going to be in real trouble when I figure out how to get out here!"
The voice chuckled, kindly. "You'll be fine. You can go home when the party is finished! But you have to finish in order to get back home. That is… if you want to go back there."
Nora opened one eye to ask what that meant, only to see that she was no longer falling in a void. She was falling among a pale blue sky towards what looked like a forest. It was beautiful, full of all kinds of green even from this height. Nora screamed out as she fell closer, "How do I stop?" The voice didn't answer this time.
A/N: What has Nora fallen into this time?
