Hey! I'm WhiteNails240, and this is the first chapter of my new story, Lara Wood: Wish Upon a Star. It's my first Harry Potter story. I've always liked the new generation, and the werewolf characters always interested me; if OC stories are not your type then that is fine but this story won't be for you. I like creating my own characters :) this story is about a girl called Lara Wood, the daughter of Oliver Wood, werewolf from a young age, who goes to Hogwarts and befriends James Potter, Fred Weasley and a girl, Kaylie Stephanie. Please review! :) also, a disclaimer: I do not own any characters or settings you recognise, they belong to J.K. Rowling. I only own my own characters and the storyline. :)

Chapter 1 – The Falling Light

A woman sat in her office, preparing a lesson for her third-year students, the only class she had on the first day of term.

Bored already, she sighed, got up and walked over to the window. She stared out at the night. Her window provided a perfect view of the Forbidden Forest; she looked down at it, underneath a starless sky. She was about to turn back when something caught her eye.

She looked up and saw something silver; something blindingly bright, streaking across the night sky.

And it was coming straight for the forest.

Forgetting all about the stupid third-years, she rushed out of her office, through the corridors, down the staircases and out the castle doors. Huddling into her cloak in the cold air, the woman strode forward over the dewy grass and watched the light's progress. It came closer, and closer, but the woman was not concerned. She knew exactly where it was going to land.

Her prediction was correct.

The light, whatever it was, had landed deep inside the forest. The woman looked around herself furtively, guiltily, as if she knew she shouldn't be doing this; but she did it anyway, casting a Disillusionment Charm on herself before running into the forest.

Using her wand to guide her to her objective, she went further and further, deeper and deeper into the forest. She'd left the path long ago. Any creatures that might have found her shied away at the light that her wand was providing. They were probably a bit concerned as to why there was a floating ball of light hurrying through the forest. They couldn't see the woman, of course.

She'd spent over an hour in the forest by the time she saw some light that didn't come from her wand. She muttered the enchantment to turn out the light and then walked forward cautiously to where the other light was coming from.

The light, whatever it was, had certainly left an impact. It was almost too bright to look at, and she squinted through her eyelashes. It had formed a large crater and was sparkling iridescently.

Comprehension dawned on her of what it was. Of course! How could she be so stupid as to not realise what it was before?

She hurried away from the scene. Still Disillusioned, she hurried down to the gates of the grounds after the hour of walking back through the forest. She slipped through the gates, making sure to lock them after her, before Disapparating on the spot.

She reappeared in a dark forest, a long way away from Hogwarts. She took out her wand, muttered an incantation and a shimmering image appeared in front of her. It depicted a figure; a human figure taller than her, except it was just swirling black mist.

"Password?" it hissed, and the woman shivered at the cold, hissing voice.

"Enecentia Tenebio," she replied clearly. The figure dissolved into nothingness, and behind it a black entryway was suddenly visible. With no hesitation the woman strode through the foreboding entryway. It closed up behind her, and all traces of a human being there were erased.

Inside the woman found herself in a maze-like room that could have gone on forever. Iron doors were dotted along both walls, and she knew that behind these were prisoners. She heard their pitiful moaning but ignored it, walking purposefully to the large brown door at the end.

Behind the door was a long room, only slightly smaller than the room of prisons, but this time it was filled with machines. Magically powered metal contraptions lined the walls. At the very end of the room there was a large glass cylinder dominating the back wall with a black mist swirling inside it.

But this mist was not in a form of any kind; it was swirling around the cylinder, and it emanated an essence of evil so strong that the woman physically felt the air become heavier, eviller, as she stepped through the door.

Ignoring all the workers at the machines, she strode forward and stopped just a few metres in front of the cylinder. She bowed.

"Arise," it hissed. She did so. "What is it you have for me?" this voice was even worse than the one outside; cold, cruel, demanding, and evil. It sent chills down the woman's spine.

"I have news, my Lord," the woman said, and quickly relayed all that she had seen.

"Oh?" the 'mist' said. "Where?"

"The Forbidden Forest at Hogwarts."

"Excellent," it said. "You have done very well."

"Thank you, my Lord."

"And I am thinking," it mused, "that perhaps I should…change things a little. It will be much more effective than having to use a spy for everything."

"M…My Lord?" the woman stuttered. "You – I mean –"

"I will need a host body," her Lord said.

The woman knew what her insane Lord was about to suggest, and there was no way she was going to let something take over her body, no matter how loyal she was to it.

"One of the first-years," the woman said.

The mist hissed. "A strong one."

The woman hesitated for a moment before saying, "Yes, my Lord." She turned to leave but it called out to her once more. She turned around.

"I won't be needing you as a spy anymore," it said. "Go and find work elsewhere."

"But –"

"Go. And bring a host to me."
