Chapter 1 :

"Lar..v.." cried the young Larvitar by it's 14 year old master who was snoring like a Snorlax. The boy's name was Joshua and he had just moved from New Bark Town in Johto to Twinleaf Town in Sinnoh.

"You'd better wake up Josh, or you'll miss your appointment with Prof. Rowan." said his mom.

"Alright Mom.. Larvitar, return." he said as he returned his pokemon to it's pokeball.

"Breakfast is ready." said Josh's dad while he took a sip of his coffee and started reading his newspaper.

As young Josh started coming down the stairs, his mom's Poliwrath was punching his punching bag.

"Hey Poliwhirl, how's training going?" All Poliwrath did was grunt, and return punching his punching bag. His father's Pikachu was sleeping on the couch beside Josh's father with electricity sparkling around him.

It has done that since his father first got it as a child from HIS main professor, Professor Oak.

"Josh, eat up all your breakfast, THEN go to the lab. You know how much I hate it when you don't finish your breakfast." his mom said.

"But mo-"

"No buts, Joshua Ketchum. Eat ALL your breakfast."

"Fine.." Josh said as he secretly let Larvitar out of it's pokeball.

"Here.. Eat up, Larvitar. You gotta grow before we become a Pokemon master, y'know?" whispered Josh. Larvitar nodded slightly and gobbled all the food up.

Juice box and all.

"Okay, now you can go. First, take these running shoes. You'll need them." said Ash Ketchum, Josh's dad. He handed the shoes to Josh.

"They're a little worn out, but that's only because they're the shoes that I wore when I first started MY adventure." his father said.

"Take this cell phone too in case you need to call us for any reason," he said. Josh looked at it, eyes sparkling.

"Really Dad? Thanks SO MUCH.." Josh said excitingly.

"Lastly, take this backpack filled with a bunch of things. A compass, extra change of clothes, and a watch." Josh took the backpack and put the cellphone

and shoes in the it.

"Thanks Dad. I'm going now.."

"WAIT. JOSH." cried his mom. "Give me a hug first," she said emotionally. She started bawling her eyes out as she tightly embraced Josh.

"Don't worry Mom," whimpered Josh. "I'll come back soon enough. When I'm the Pokemon Champion."

When Josh left the house, he heard something behind him. It was Pikachu.

"Hey little guy! Well.. I think you're older than me now aren't you." Pikachu nudged Josh's leg as if to say goodbye.

"Bye, little guy.."

When Josh got outside of the gates, he got a call on his cellphone.

Ayame Harrison Calling.

He picked up right away.

"How'd you get my number?" asked Josh

"Well, I asked your dad for it." she replied. "So I hear you're going on a journey?"

"Yea, you got it."

"Would it be okay if.. I came along with you?" she asked with a hint of hope in her voice.

"Aww, why not. Not like it would kill me or anything right?" he responded with a smile on his face.

"YAY! We'll meet at the Lake Verity lakefront alright?"

"Alright Ayame, see you there." he said excitingly.
