Okay, guys. This is the first spinoff of my Valkyria Chronicles epic "Downfall". This story is much like a prologue before the events happen in the original game and the story, so hang on to your seats! Oh, and by the way, you'll strap yourselves in the eyes of soon-to-be Professor Irene Ellet. Yes, this was way before she worked for GBS in the game, and believe it or not, she's smarter than she looks or sounds like....

Chapter 1: The Project Begins

Gallian Military Base 51-A

Prof. Irene Ellet

Designated: PROJECT MYTHOLOGY

Purpose: To create a team of superhuman soldiers using Valkyrian DNA

It was no surprise that today we get our full batch or test subjects. I was very excited, but Lieutenant Varrot had to ruin my morning; she made me finish up files and intels about our guys. I had a bad day this morning, but all that changed when we saw the trucks carrying our subjects into the camp. It wasn't really my intention to join the Gallian Biological Community, but it was my final assignment before I had to go for news and broadcasting. As the trucks finally passed the gate, all I can feel is nervousness and hesitation. Will I screw it all up? Or will I finally get that job at GBN?

"Okay, people. Off the trucks now, nice and slowly." ordered Sergeant Welkin Gunther, a recent recruit in the GBC. He seems eager to follow his father's footsteps, but he told me he wanted to be involved with biology. He begins to instruct the subjects. "Now as you all know, you are part of a biological experiment on creating one of the best soldiers in Europa. Now there are only two rules: There is no turning back, even if you have some sort of medical condition of sickness. There are approximately four serums we need to test, and you will each take one serum per week and we will monitor the effects that you display through our security cameras. If you wish to sign out of this project, then you're too late. Everyone please stand in the yellow line on your left and face in front of me, Professor Ellet and Lieutenant Varrot and we will check off your name."

They did what Gunther ordered them to do; they stood on the yellow line as directed. Then, by number, they state their names:

I don't know what to expect; only nine volunteers getting them into serious biology shit. I just hope everyone, including me, doesn't fuck this experiment. Before I had to leave to another building, Lieutenant Varrot began to halt me immediately, to tell me one more thing. "You identify the subjects, and make sure everyone is ready for the first serum test tomorrow. We're counting on you, Irene. Don't screw this up."

How can I screw this up? I mean, it's just a superhuman experiment handled meticulously by the Gallian military. Anyways, i went into the next building so I can later on interview and identify the test subjects in preparation for tomorrow. I couldn't wait to get out of here, but I knew about something that would jeopardize the experiment.

That was pretty much the first chapter of our spinoff, and why name it "Project: MYTHOLOGY"? Well, since Valkyrians didn't exist until we get to meet that special someone in the game, the Gallian military were working on a project to bring these mythical super-humans to life and serve the country as the primarchs.

Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy this first spinoff of Downfall. Oh, and yes. This is based on the Project Abraham thing from Resistance 2.
