Santa Claus

(My characters name is Nikki; she is one of the cops in the Special Victims Unit)

It had been an interesting case for the cops in the special victims unit. A young girl had reported that a wealthy CEO dressed in a Santa Suit had molested her, but since the guy was dressed as Santa Claus, his lawyers convinced the family to settle because if word got out children would lose their innocence. Although the team tried to convince them to do otherwise the family wouldn't budge, because of this everyone was frustrated … some more than others.

"I can't believe that is what they decided to do" Olivia Benson said angrily once they the family left. Alex Cabot was doing some paperwork in her office and Captain Cragen was in his office doing the same, the team had already finished their paperwork and was killing time until their shift ended.

"Believe it Liv, this is how the world works" answered John Munch equally angry but better at hiding it.

"But settling just because they didn't want children to stop believing in Santa Claus, a fat guy who comes to your house bringing presents is hardly believable"

"Ooh, someone didn't take the news of Santa very well" Nikki said with a smile, she immediately walked towards Olivia's desk, sat on it and looked at the brunette in face.

"Don't be stupid Nikki" Olivia answered still angry but now a little afraid, she hoped Nikki wouldn't notice the change in voice but then again Nikki wasn't one of the best detectives they had for nothing, she always seem to notice what people didn't want her to and she had a habit of flaunting her findings better than Perez Hilton.

"Oh come on Livvy tell us, when did you find out Santa wasn't real?

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me, so tell us, when did you find out Santa wasn't real?"

Olivia looked around the squad room and realized that John, Elliot, and Fin were watching with intrigue.

"Come on Liv tell us," Elliot added.

"Fine, I was twelve and when I went to sit on Santa's lap he pulled down his beard and asked me if I was serious"

"Then what happened" John asked very amused.

"When I said yes he and his elves started laughing along with some parent's o.k."

"Poor Livvy" Nikki answered as she got of Olivia's desk and proceed to put a sympathetic arm around her friends shoulders.

"What about you Elliot?" John asked.

"I was seven and I had woken up at around midnight because I had heard something downstairs. When I went to check I saw Santa putting presents under my tree so I ran up to bed excited about what presents I was going to open the next morning well when I woke up the next morning I ran downstairs and to my surprise I saw my dad asleep on the couch in a Santa Suit".

"Damn, what about you Nikki?" Fin asked

"Oh please I never believed in Santa"

Although the same question rose in everyone's mind, none dared ask why not.

"What about you John" Olivia asked.

"I'm Jewish; I wasn't allowed to believe in Santa Claus"

"Fin you've been quiet, when did you stop believing in Santa?" Elliot asked curiously.

"When I realized no white guy would ever come to my neighborhood at night"
