The Return of the Mirror:
"Mum! Do we have any spare owl cages?" Lily Luna Potter shouted from her room. Her owl, Athena had just broken hers by accident and Lily needed a new one.
"Yes dear, in the attic." Ginny Potter replied, smiling to herself as she saw a familiar figure outside. It was Lorcan Scamander, Luna's son. He and Lily had always been close, even after all this time.
"Thanks Mum!" Lily replied as she ran up to the attic. The Potters' attic was amazing, filled with random things that Grandad Weasley loved, of Wizarding and Muggle-kind. Lorcan walked to the front door and was greeted by a smiling Ginny.
"Hey, Mrs. Potter." the cheerful blonde smiled as he walked in. He was entering his 6th year at Hogwarts and his hair was slightly ruffled from a flight on a broomstick, no doubt. Ginny smiled back brightly. "Lily! Lorcan's here!" she yelled. "She's in the attic." she said to Lorcan, who was waiting patiently.
Upstairs, Lily was in shock. She was gazing at a mirror that showed a redheaded girl hand in hand with a blonde boy. They were happy, and surrounded gazing at each other lovingly. All she could do is gaze, when it hit her. She was looking at the Mirror of Erised. And if she wasn't mistaken, she was seeing an older version of herself with Lorcan...
Lorcan stopped in his tracks at the entrance of the attic. "Lily?" he asked as he walked in. What he didn't know is that he too was seeing the same thing she did. Ever since they were young, he had pined after Lily. Little did he know that she felt the same way. Lily tore her eyes away from the mirror.
"This is the Mirror of Erised," she explained. "And it shows you-"
"Your hearts' desire. Yeah, I know. My mum told me." he answered, meeting her eyes. Lily looked down. "Yeah, I'm guessing my dad got it from Aberforth. So, what do you see in it?" she smiled slightly.
"I see.. me.. um hand in hand with a redhead. And you?" he replied softly, looking down. Instantly, he blushed and Lily paled. She assumed that he was seeing himself with Rose.
"I see... myself with a blonde boy." Lily replied, trying to gulp back tears. Now it was Lorcans' turn to pale. She was obviously seeing herself with Scorpius. Lorcan nodded, still looking down.
"Lorcan... if you're wondering... I'm not seeing myself with Scorpius." she whispered softly, meeting his eyes. Lorcan looked back.
"Who is it then? Lysander?" he asked carefully, struggling to keep his voice steady.
"No... it's-it's you." Lily replied. Lorcan walked over to her slowly, smiling shyly.
"Lily?" he asked, tilting her chin up gently. "Yes?" she answered, gazing into his eyes.
"I don't see me with Rose. I see myself with you." he whispered, stroking her cheek. "I love you, Lily Luna Potter. I always have."
"After all this time, Lorcan Scamander?" Lily breathed, wrapping her arms around his neck.
"Always." he answered, then kissed her gently. As they pulled away, Lily looked at him. "I love you too, Lorcan. It's always been you."
