So this is a new thing for me to do actually uploading a story. Hope you enjoy, I've been bored as hell and I decided to delve into fan-fiction again and man has it eaten up my time. So I got even more bored and decided to write this today.

CHAPTER 1

"THIS IS THE CCG, SURRENDER NOW AND YOU MAY BE SPARED!"

Of course they were met with silence, they were only third to first class investigators with a few Associate Special Classes in the midst. What could they even hope to do against the infamous organization of Aogiri. The tension continued to build until in a moment of fear, a low ranking member of the CCG had fired a shot. As soon as it had started it was over, they were overwhelmed by ghouls tearing them apart left right and center. After a five minutes only thirty of the original 100 investigators that were sent for what was supposed to be a group of only 20 ghouls. It turned out though for it all a trap, instead of the 20 ghouls they thought they were exterminating there were ten for every one they seemed to kill. But, of course 20 first classes were still enough to sweep up the rest of the small time ghouls that were left, yet even now the Aogiri forces didn't let up instead deciding to rush straight at them for what they thought would be a victory, and with one last charge the ghouls finally lost against the investigators.

"Sir, this is Associate Special Class Daruma Kaito we have terminated the forces in the fifth ward but we have sustained heavy casualties."

"Daruma, bring your men back to the first ward and I expect a complete report detailing everything that occured before, after, and during the raid."

"Yes Sir, it will be ready by tomorrow."

"I can't believe I've put off eating for three days." muttered a young man with black hair. It was in the middle of the night in a small little neighborhood with no one out besides him. Though fate seemed to favor him for once as he saw a lone human walking past in the street. Tired face, grey suit, black hair with grey strands, a target that was just too normal to be missed from the general population and so then he became another victim of the terrifying creature who just so happened to target him in particular. It truly was a shame. So after making up his mind he reached into his pocket and slowly pulled out a mask, nothing really special just a blank grey mask. With it on, he followed the tired man to an even more secluded area before finally a red tendril ripped through the man's heart without even making a sound. After, the predator finally dropped from the roof of a nearby building, dragged the body into a dark alley then began to feast.

"Oh Kaneki-san what can we do for you today." said an old man.

"Eh, I just want coffee, but remember just black. No milk no sugar." replied Kaneki.

"As usual then, on the house. Don't worry, it's my treat."

"Are you really sure, I don't mind paying for my coffee." said a confused yet delighted Kaneki.

"Mhmm. Your order will be ready in just a moment." said the old man as he walked away.

In just few minutes he had his coffee, paid for it and was on his way to another coffee shop, this one though with more than just intentions of purchasing coffee. As he walked out though, he stopped for just a moment to admire the rising sun in the distance but as soon as he felt those feelings he crushed them. In just an hour he walked to his 'desired' location, quickly taking in the scenery then opening the door.

"Good morning and welcome Ken." said an old man with a serene smile in the empty cafe.

"Good morning to you as well, Yoshimura-san." replied Kaneki with his seemingly permanent blank face.

After their greeting they conversed for a short while, drinking coffee talking of the news Kaneki had learned of in the other wards of Tokyo. While it started off light hearted, it quickly took a turn for the worse as Kaneki began to delve into the real reason he was there that day.

"The doves are planning to move into the 20th ward, not many of them but the ones that they are sending could really shake things up."

"And why do you say that." said Yoshimura with a strangely calming voice.

"The one they are sending is truly one of the cruelest bastards I've ever seen, he collects Quinques like no other. He goes by the name Mado Kureo."

"And what do you think we should do about this?" said the truly curious old man.

"I don't know I just came here to warn you so that you could warn the rest of them, I don't really care what happens to them as long as my favorite little cafe is still standing by the end of it all." said Kaneki as he walked out the cafe all the while whistling a jaunty little tune.
