Sloan rushed back into the newsroom. "What was I thinking?" she scolded herself for reacting so openly. She quietly sat in her chair next to Taylor and Will and focused on the coverage at hand.
Don watched her walk out. Mac gave him a look that showed both excitement and annoyance. Of course it would have been better if Sloane had waited until after the broadcast but her ability to believe one little thinkg overcast all else in priority was one of his favorite things about her. So what if they got in the way of the show, Sloan Sabboth just kissed him.
He felt he needed to be with Maggie before but he wanted to be with Sloan. Seeing her at her best and her worst over the last year had made him sure of that. Of course they would have to talk after the show. One spur of the moment kiss doesn't necessarily mean anything even if it did come after many months of essentially being each other's rocks. They were good together. They trusted each other. Maybe that would be enough.
Sloan found Don as soon as she was finished on air.
"Well" Don said as she walked up. She looked like she was going ot be sick so he smiled so she knew he wasn't weirded out.
"That was an unexpected turn of events."
"Shut up and let me talk"
"Okay"
"You've been here for me. You came to me after the pictures were leaked"
"Technically you became a squatter in my office" She glared at him
"But you helped me. You didn't judge me. You've shown faith in me and I'm thankful for that"
"I'm going to stop you for a minute because I'm afraid you are about to say that earlier was a mistake. You've been here for me too. You stood by me when I was convinced I needed to be Maggie's boyfriend. You knew my intentions even before I did. You understood that I was just trying to be seen as the good guy because I was scared I was being pushed out as the bad guy. You've stood by me though mistakes and successes and dammit I'm pretty sure I love you."
