play off number 16 of my story '25 things no one knows about the bau team'
second person and i have a secret love affair
there are many types of schizophrenia, i just combined some of the symptoms
don't own

1. Agitation

"I got it Emily!" you snap slightly unnecessarily at your co-worker. The last time you snapped at her like this was when you were going through withdrawal, and you hope she doesn't think these two incidents are related. You don't know why you're feeling the anxiety, the tension. You pass it off as not having enough coffee, or even too much. You watch as she walks away, looking slightly upset. You realize you don't care.

2. Decreased sensitivity to pain

Getting shot equals pain. It's a simple equation that you can understand in more ways then you feel comfortable admitting. You've heard Garcia talking about it to Morgan, and Elle talked about it with you. It's simple: when a bullet pierced your skin and damaged vital nerves and organs, it caused pain. So when you yourself get shot, the bullet cutting through your leg, you find yourself feeling well enough to almost stand. You try to talk down an unsub, but end up shooting him. As you try to refuse medical treatment, you wonder if it's strange you aren't moaning in pain like the man you just shot, laying no more than five feet away.

3. Inability to take care of personal needs

You forgot, it was that simple. Eating, sleeping, and on occasion, bathing, falls on the backburner when you're doing important things. It's not a big deal, forgetting. Morgan once forgot his cell phone, Hotch once his files, Garcia once her everyday morning beverage. Forgetting happens to everyone. So when you were especially busy, or into something, you just forgot to do something. When you remembered to eat, you eat double. When you forget to sleep, you take a day off and catch up. When you forget to bathe, you take a long, hot shower. It was simple.

4. Social withdrawal

Bars, clubs, parties, social outings, are not your thing. You do everything to avoid them, even lying. You like being alone in your apartment, reading some obscure textbook, or watching mind numbing television, because it's easy to lose yourself in things others have made. Emotions are for the weak; at least that's what you believe. So you sit in your favorite chair, lights out, blinds closed, the only light coming from the television, showing your favorite mind numbing movie, as the rest of your team is out having pizza and beer.

5. Denial

You are nothing like her, that monster you force yourself to call mother. She has a disorder, you're just busy. You have a short fuse, you were a 12 year old child prodigy in a Las Vegas school, you're forgetful, and you've never liked going out. There's nothing wrong with that. You aren't like her; you don't have a genetically passed disease. You got lucky. Okay, you know that's all a lie. You haven't been lucky, ever, in your entire life. You're just lying to yourself. You've done the research. You know you have too many symptoms of too many types of that retched disease.

16. Spencer has so many symptoms of schizophrenia that he can't lie to himself about it anymore, but he can lie to everyone else.
