Prologue
Yes, we all know the story. Beautiful girl meets horrid beast, they learn to get along… blah blah blah… then BOOM! They fall in love and live happily ever after.
As a girl myself, I know that our gender often daydreams on this subject, dreaming of the day that our beast will find us. Of course, the only real things that come out of these fantasies are bags under our eyes and they tendency to drift off in class.
A question of peculiar origin haunted me one afternoon. Where did the inspiration for this story originate? I mean, anthropologically speaking, people write what they know and I am pretty sure that good old Walt Disney didn't fall in love with a beast. So I went and researched the subject to try to get to the bottom of it.
67 days, 14 hours, 32 minutes, 16 seconds and 72 lattes later I stumbled upon the truth. The man didn't look like a beast but to the girl he sure did. Here is the story of Lily and James, the Beauty and the Beast.
