Final report of patient 393042:-
As a certified doctor pertaining to the physiological mind, I have overseen multiple cases of mental illnesses of nearly all descriptions. Dare I say that quite a few of those cases I have seen to curing personally, and many of those patients have gained a better quality of life because of it. However, in regards to patient 393042 it was quickly revealed to me that curing his metal state would sadly turn out to be virtually impossible.

Upon his transfer to [REDACTED], I made a note to thoroughly overview what little records were left of his medical reports from the [REDACTED] Medical Institute. Not much had survived the fire that had caused the institute to shut down, however what remained gleaned a little insight on the patient himself.

According to the records that had survived, the patient had been diagnosed with a severe case of schizophrenia, as well as a high case of social anxiety disorder. Added with pyromania, such disorders made him an extremely dangerous individual to be allowed to intermingle in public. After being arrested by the police due to thirty-eight cases of arson, eleven counts of murder and twenty-one counts of man-slaughter, he was deemed too unstable by the court to be taken to prison. Thus, he had been sent to the [REDACTED] Mental Institute.

His transfer here at [REDACTED] happened in the year 1965, after he had been detained following the original institute being burnt down. He had been put under the care of Dr. [REDACTED] to oversee his therapy with the hope to gain an understanding of his mental state. Within the first few sessions, patient 393042 had refused to speak, or even allowed the doctors anywhere near him, a clear indicator of his social anxiety.

Months had passed before it became clear that the patient was buried deep in his own delusions that- to our understanding- he had created in an attempt to hide from some sort of abuse he had suffered early in life. It was never made clear what it was that he had suffered from, as the patient had continuously refuse to speak of it whenever the subject was brought up.

Referring back to the old reports, it was understood that the patient had undergone several treatments in an attempt to cure him of his mental state. The details of which however are unclear. Upon asking the patient, he yet again refused to speak of it, or was unclear about crucial details. Our indications dictate that it was more than likely that electrical shock therapy was issued, among other such practises. However, without the surviving records, it is impossible to say for certain what the methods were. Either way, with the sessions that the patient had undergone, it seemed to have made his condition worse rather than better.

From the therapy sessions issued by Dr. [REDACTED], it became apparent that the patient lacks any sense of caution and self preservation. Reports from our security team support this theory, as it had been discovered that patient 393042 had willingly scarred himself by way of flame. The most unsettling aspect of this report details that the patient didn't seem to be affected by the fire. Where most individuals would cry out, he was merely watching his own flesh scar with no indication that he was in pain. This indicated that significant damage had been inflicted to his nervous system, though whether it was because of himself or the treatments he had undergone that caused the damage is uncertain.

After the incident, it had been stressed that no open flame or item to create flame should be within the patient's vicinity, both for his safety and the safety of the other patients and staff.

The events that had sealed the patient's case file however is the whole basis of this report. The details of the event is undoubtedly a gruesome one, which is issued within the case files of the local governmental officers. The results of the incident ended with patient 393042 being detained to solitary confinement of the highest security.

After the incident, I, Dr. [REDACTED] had voluntarily taken up the case, working closely with the patient within solitary confinement. My final analysis however is that sadly, the patient is too far gone to attempt to cure. Therefore, my recommendation is that patient 393042 be euthanised a soon as possible, for the safety of ALL concerned.

Hey guys, I hope you like the idea I'm running with here. Ever since I rediscovered Team Fortress 2, I had become quiet obsessed with it and my troublesome brain decided to make me write this fanfiction as a result. Yay, as if I don't already have other fanfictions for different fandoms on the go already. *sigh. Aw well.

Anyway, if it wasn't obvious from this prologue, this fanfiction is going to based around Pyro. I've really just fallen in love with this character, since he is just the most adorable thing and I love everything about him. Big kudos to Valve for all the characters, seriously. But as we all know, we know next to nothing about Pyro, which was what prompted me to do this in the first place. What little we know was just begging me to thoroughly analyse his character and after reading numerous wonderful fanfics about him (or her in most cases), I decided to give my own spin on the subject.

Oh, and just as a warning, this story is not going to be all smiles and rainbows. Yes, I am going to keep to the humour Team Fortress is famous for, but the story is mainly going to be about exploring Pyro's mental state and his interactions with the world around him. This is not a thing to laugh at people, mental health is a serious thing and I'm not about to make fun of it, as the subject is quiet close to me personally. So be warned, there will be moments in this story where trigger warnings will be issued and I will not sugar coat it either. If that makes you uncomfortable, I highly suggest not reading this story at all and if it gets too much, I will cease posting the story on this site and create a profile on a more adult site. Hopefully it will be alright, but I don't want to violate any terms and conditions or anything of the sort.

Anywho, with that bit of morbidness out the way, I hope you guys enjoy this fic anyway and I encourage you to give me feedback. No flaming though please, Pyro does that to me enough thank you very much.
