Greetings, fellow Portal fans! I decided to make a collection of oneshots about Portal 2 because I love it so much! They will be in no particular order, because I'm really random. (: Please review and I think around chapter ten I might take requests! Thanks!

As the darkness began to creep away, clearing her mind, her first thought was of GlaDOS. Had they beaten her? Was she dead, truly this time?

And then, her eyes focused a bit more, and she saw the remains of an elevator hanging right above her head, sparks flying down around her. A bird sat on a twisted metal rung above, pecking at a-

Oh. Right.

The bird cawed and flew off, carrying the potato-no GlaDOS-with it. The caws faded into the distance. It was gone.

She was alone.

Sitting up, she looked at her surroundings. There was a fire a few feet away, and she seemed to be in an underground room that had definitely seen better days. An exit in the wall was to her left, and no doubt it led to the closed off part of the incredibly large, seeming endless Aperture Laboratories.

But, as she stared into the fire, standing stock still, she realized that she was not really looking-she was listening. For a sound. A voice. A person. Not a core, or a robotic voice, but a person. With eyes, and arms, and legs, and a heart. She begged for one, wishing for it more than anything in the world.

Just one person, who she could trust.

But the only sounds were the wind whistling, and debris falling. Nothing else.

She thought of Wheatly.

She felt anger, deep and dark, grow in her chest. The one person in this entire facility who she could trust, who she had trusted, with her life-and he had betrayed her. He really was a moron.

A small tendril of guilt nagged at her now, however. He was designed that way, after all. It was probably just because he couldn't handle the power that he had gone mad with it. But none of it mattered now. She was miles below the real facility, probably with no way to get back up, and she had only the portal gun to help her.

She wondered where she would go now, what she would do. This looked like an abandoned part of the facility, and she knew she had quite the journey ahead of her to get back up top, to defeat Wheatly. Yet another battle. She let herself wonder, just for a moment, a fleeting moment-would she ever get out? Would she ever win? Would she ever see the sun or the moon again, or read a book, or sleep properly, in a bed? Would she ever get that back?

Would she ever remember her own life?

But, with a deep breath, she hoisted the portal gun up into position. She hadn't given up yet. And she wouldn't start now.

A little more persistence, a little more effort, and what seemed hopeless failure may turn to glorious success.

Chell stopped, staring at nothing, but quite shocked. Where had that come from? She hadn't thought of it herself-it was as if it had just been…remembered. All of a sudden.

She tightened her grip on the portal gun, and a small smile graced her face. Maybe she would remember herself. Just maybe.

With a little persistence, a little effort.

Smiling still, she began to slosh through the water toward the exit. She was beginning a new journey.

And though she might be alone, she knew she could do it.

So, hope you like it! BTW, Chell's "memory" is a quote by Elbert Hubbard. I thought it applied. So please, review! PLEASE! (; Tanks!
