I loved Becca and Chris in the first book, then I loved Gabriel and Layne in the second book, I wasn't that set on Kate though something about her I didn't like and I didn't trust her with Hunter! But I hated when she died just when I'd started to like her! Now it's back to Becca and Chris :) Really short One-Shot.
Becca lay on Chris's chest; he was playing with a strand of her hair absent-mindedly. Her father Bill rudely knocked on the door
"He isn't staying Becca" was all he said through the door then continued walking, Becca sat up ready to say a few things to her beloved father but Chris gently touched her face to calm her, she turned her head back to him and he kissed her softly.
"It's going to be okay Becca" he says.
"How? We're practically being hunted and I'd rather not have my father around, all this father daughter time is driving me up the wall, I want him gone Chris! I want them all gone" Chris draws her into his chest, hugging her to him.
"We will all be fine Becca"
"How do you know?" she asks he smiles.
"Because I can't imagine life without you and my brothers" he says Becca wanted to point out the flaws in that way of thinking but instead took a deep breath and hugged Chris trying to draw in his positive energy.
She was scared, make no mistake, of the Guides coming to kill them just because they were powerful, Becca's father was of no help just saying 'they will come' and to 'prepare' lots of help thanks Bill. Becca walks Chris to her front door, Gabriel's in the pickup truck waiting, he beeps the horn for Chris to hurry up, Chris kisses Becca quickly.
"Have a bit of faith" he says before running out to Gabriel and getting in the truck, Becca watches them disappear from sight before closing the door Bill was there.
"How are you?" he asked.
"Terrified guides are about to knock down the door and kill me" she says simply Bill nods as if this was perfectly acceptable teenage behaviour. Shaking her head and rolling her eyes, Becca gets back to her room looking out the window praying to whoever was listening, that they'd make it somehow, the Merricks, herself and Hunter would survive what was coming.
