I made this poem over the course of an hour. I tried to experiment with rhyming, but still feel like I did an awful job; proof that I should never try to rhyme again. Still wanted to post this poem though, since I relate to Winter so much.

This poem is based on the events during the fanfiction "Dragons Change" by AdmiralCole, following the events of Winter. Please go read it. The story is amazing, and really well written. Wouldn't be writing this without that story. And thanks Cole for letting me write this, I was so inspired by you story, and I hope you're having a good day :)

I'm Winter.
I ran away.
I found a Sanctuary,
And I'm here to stay.

I tried to hide who I am
I tried to forget the past.
But the past doesn't forget you,
And it came for me last.

A queen had mercy on me,
I had mercy on Flint.
The pain of the past,
Came and went.

Memories are never forgotten for long.
The past likes to catch up.
And the actions like wine,
Soon overflow the cup.

I was happy and content,
Then she showed up.
I had hidden all my feelings,
Then she showed up.

I'm Winter.
I hate what I've done.
That first knock on the door,
Only continued what had begun.

She was hurt,
I was in pain.
I helped her up,
Just to keep me sane.

The memories resurfaced,
Reminding him of the day.
She had chosen him.
Broken, he ran away.

Invisible.
He was oh so invisible.
They only cared about him and her.
He was invisible.

Suddenly a second bang on the door.
He appeared from the storm.
He wasn't who he was.
And suddenly I was torn.

She needed help.
I needed to redeem myself.
He needed to be stopped.
And I need to forgive myself.

Venturing to the grains of sun,
Stuck with the Blaze.
We were both invisible.
Lost in a haze.

The Thorn in the sand,
Was sharper than before.
I feared for what I loved,
For the past, present, and more.

I had to go back to the mountain,
The Academy of Jade.
The memories I remember,
Are the ones I want to fade.

Invisible.
Oh so invisible.
Him and her,
forever and ever more,
But they couldn't see poor Winter.
I'm invisible.

Turtle was there,
Everyone else was gone.
Just shadows of the past,
Of a time once upon.

I needed someone,
A dragon who would care.
Some Sunny daylight,
A dragon who wouldn't stare.

The dragon guided me,
I followed the trail.
Right back to Sanctuary.
The ship of destiny set sail.

I won't let him.
He won't hurt her.
He hurt me,
And it hurts to the core.

Images, memories, the past.
I almost lost the dragon of Flint,
I lost my Sandwing.
So he will be bent.

I can't take it.
And so I took his instead.
He was my best friend,
And now he's dead.

Invisible.
Oh so invisible.
Him and her.
Forever and ever more.
But they couldn't see poor Winter.

They were invisible under him. The Blaze invisible under the storm.
And me.
No one cares, no one knows.
I'm invisible.
