I walked quietly through the sewers, in one arm i carried a bundle of school books. I hated having to go to school with other people, but Donatello insisted it was good for me and seeing as how he was our resident genius and expert on the matter I had to go.

I opened the door of the lair and stepped inside, instantly I was greeted by a strange scent in the air. It was coppery, a part of me knew what it was, another refused to accept it. At the sight of the blood trail I dropped the books. For a moment I just stood still, slowly against my own will I followed it to Donatello's lab. Just at the doorway lay Splinter, his stick lay not far away from him. It was the slash across his throat that got my attention. I continued into the lab and found Donatello propped against the wall, his chin rested on his chest. In his hands he held his shattered bo staff, there was a large hole through his plastroon near to his heart. Both hands lay by his knees, lifeless hands still clutching his sai. I knew without even having to check that he was dead. As if on autopilot I moved towards the desk where I knew he kept a spare bo staff, I slid it free from its holder and clutched it in both shaky hands.

I moved out of the lab and towards the bedrooms. Before I even reached them I came across my fathers body. Raphael looked as thogh he was just kneeling, but I knew he was dead to, there was a slash mark across his stomach and multiple slash wounds on his body and limbs. There were streak marks along the floor behind him and I knew he hadn't given in without a fight. Disbelief and pain warred with each other, with more willpower than I knew I had I pushed it aside and kept walking. I found no one else in the bedrooms or the bathroom.

As I neared the dojo I could hear sounds of fighting. I should have known that Leo was still alive. I quickened my pace, inside the dojo I was surprised to see that Leonardo was already dead. He lay face down, I could only imagine how he had died. To my surprise it was Michelangelo who was still standing. He fought against people in black suits. Faceless cowards.

"Elizabeth, run!" Michelangelo yelled. But I had been thought to fight, not run. I ran towards him and my families attackers and jabbing the bo staff into the floor I hit one of them in the chest with both feet. Once I landed I brought the staff in front of my body, whirling it and hitting, stabbing and deflecting. I pushed my back against Mikey's shell. Almost as one we fought for what seemed like forever. This wasn't about protecting each others backs anymorel; it was about revenge for our family and we weren't pulling back on our attacks either, these guys weren't leaving our home alive, not if we could help it. I heard Mikey grunting and felt him fall away from me, instinctively I knew he was dead. I still fought a battle I knew I wouldn't win. I didn't ask them what they wanted or why they had come here. I didn't care, all I cared about now was vengence. I brought my staff down on a head with enough force that blood sprayed across my face from my victim. One last time i twirled the bo staff and brought it slamming into the chest of another, I heard bone breaking. I also felt the blade that stabbed into my stomach. I didn't feel it when it stabbed into my heart.
