Hiei's arm throbbed. He grunted, allowing his arm to react to the pain. The frown that dominated his face cracked into a rare smile as he felt someone approach him. The demon barely hid his energy, so Hiei noticed him before the demon stepped around a tree. The red haired demon smiled as another wave of pain hit Hiei's arm.
"What the hell you smiling at?" growled Hiei. Kurama smiled again as he made his way to the fire demon, kneeling before the smaller boy. Kurama put his hand on Hiei's arm above the burn, lifting it.
"I find it funny that you have yet to deal with this, Hiei," answered Kurama. The fox demon carefully wrapped the burnt arm with the bandages he brought with him. His green eyes looked away as Hiei grunted in pain again. Green and red locked.
"I have no reason to," said Hiei, looking away. Kurama gave a small laugh as he finished wrapping Hiei's arm. The fire demon lifted it, looking at the fox's handiwork and clenching his hand. When he decided it no longer hurt, he nodded. "I suppose it will do."
Kurama gave an unexpected laugh, causing the younger demon to look at him. As Kurama settled into a smile, the green eyes went up to look at the trees. Hiei watched Kurama's face fade from a smile into a look of content, as he was whenever he noticed the plant life around him.
"Hiei, you shouldn't have to deal with that pain. Honestly." The fox demon looked back down at Hiei, something in his eye that the fire demon couldn't identify. Hiei's head tilted, causing Kurama to laugh again. "You look so innocent doing that."
"I'm trying to figure you out," answered Hiei. Kurama smiled again, leaned over and gave Hiei a kiss on the cheek before standing and walking away, leaving the fire demon to wonder.
