Hi! This is my first Ouran fanfic. I really like the idea of Haruhi and Kyoya being together, though I'm mostly a fan of HaruhixTamaki. Those are my reasons for writing this. I hope people like it. :) It's very short, I know, but I only wanted it to be a one-shot. Enjoy!
His Eyes
The Ouran Fair was more fun than Haruhi had imagined it would be. For once she wasn't even upset that she had to wear a dress. When night fell and it came time to dance, she didn't object to dancing with all her friends. All of them being members of the Host Club of course. She took turns dancing with each of them, though it wasn't entirely voluntary. Honey immediately wrapped his small arms around her waist and spun her around with him so fast that she was dizzy. Even though he was supposed to be older than her, she couldn't help thinking of him as a little boy. His constant cheerfulness made her smile.
After Honey, Mori caught her up in his arms. It was much easier to dance with this man of few words than it was with Honey, though she would never tell him that. Honey was practically his whole world. As they danced though, Haruhi could sense that he was fond of her too. That much was obvious, especially after what happened when they went to that resort together. After a short time, Mori let her go to dance with Kauru next. Kauru smiled at her warmly while they danced, letting her go after an even shorter time, to Hikauru, who danced with her even though his arm was useless in a sling. She was so caught up in the warm look that he gave her, that she accidently bumped that arm with her hand, apologizing immediately afterward.
They continued dancing for a little longer, then he let her go so that she twirled in Tamaki's direction. She reached out a hand to take his outstretched one, but was surprised when another hand intercepted her's, dancing her away from Tamaki. She looked up into the dark, mysterious eyes of Kyoya, shielded behind his glasses, and the friendly warmth she'd felt with everyone else evaporated. When she looked at him, she felt a strange, icy warmth in her chest, something that was much different than what she felt with the others. The fact that he was smiling at her only intensified this feeling. She was only vaguely aware that Tamaki was screaming at them, vancing around them in a jealous rage. She was too preoccupied by Kyoya's face. He said nothing as they danced, only holding her gaze in his. She felt the urge to say something, but no words would come out. What could she say?
She opened her mouth to speak, but before she could get any words out, Kyoya abruptly spun her around so that her back was to him. "Someone like me doesn't deserve you." he whispered quickly in her ear before giving her a gentle shove toward Tamaki. She stumbled into Tamaki's surprised arms and looked questioningly back at Kyoya, who only bowed with his hand over his chest, giving away nothing.
