Count up!

Dark.

Dark, cold, and so lonely.

He couldn't remember what brought him here, but he knew this wasn't his home. This wasn't where he belonged.

He cracked his eyes open a bit, and glanced around, noticing that there were many other Felyne's around him. He attempted to let out a sound, to let the others around him know he was here, but something stopped him. A carnal fear that pierced through logic, through everything, and tickled his instincts.

Something was coming, and he didn't like it. His sensitive ears twitched as he pushed himself up, hearing footsteps on stone as someone approached. As his eyes adjusted to the firelights in the area, he realised that he was in some form of cell, steel bars separating him from what he imagined to be the way out. The other Felyne's began to stir, whispers and quiet conversations beginning to spark up around him. He heard some older, more tired looking Felyne's behind him speak.

"He's coming to get a mew subject…. What happened mew the last…? That young green furred one…."

The other shook his head. "I wish I mew…. I just hope they don't take me…."

His head spun around and he stared up at a haggard looking, portly man, short and rotund. He recognized him. This man was the one who had taken him in from that alley, saying that he could have a safe place to stay…. This didn't feel safe, not at all.

The man scanned over the crowd of Felyne's within the cell, then his eyes fell upon me. His grin widened, and my heart sunk. He began to fiddle with a large keyring, until he settled upon one, slipping it into the locking mechanism and turning it, the tumblers falling open with an all to loud clang. He pulled open the steel door and stepped in, all of the other Felyne's scattering to the corners, leaving me alone in front of the man.

"You will be my newest test subject…. You will be subject number 1."

That was when hell began.
