A/N: I haven't been in this fandom for a whileeee... So, here's my take on the Team 7 love triangle after reading the latest manga chapters.

The taste of iron was overwhelming as she clenched her teeth and held his arm in place, there where lightening had struck and pierced flesh. She was in pain, yet she was smirking at him, maybe because she thought this to be a very sick joke on her… or maybe on both of them? She didn't really know, and she couldn't really think.

How did she get there, she asks herself over and over, but it was just an impulse, something that came over to her like breathing does to everyone. She didn't know how she got there, all she knew is that her legs weren't moving on par with her thoughts and before she knew it she was the only wall stopping him. Yet she smirked.

"Y-You…" He stuttered on a whisper, "Why?" She heard him ask and somewhere behind her she could hear that high pitch call for her name.

Her head was heavy, her breathing jagged, her limbs were starting to go numb and she could feel the pressure on her lungs. She started to heal herself, even though she knew that the wounds were deep and that he had penetrated vital organs, she was the second to best medic kunoichi, and she'll be damned if she let herself die over something like this.

Still smirking at her attacker while she held him in place.

He tried to pull away, away from her grasp with guilt and grief filled eyes, but she was still so strong after taking such a lethal blow. And she was smiling at him. Was this some kind of mockery? Is this the way things would be from now on? Why?

"I- I won't sit by the sidelines any longer…" She whispered as she coughed, blood emanating not only from her wounds but from her mouth as well. "Stop this…" She whispered as she punched him.

He felt the air leave his lungs as his body collapsed rock after rock, all becoming debris as he opened path due to her mighty strength. He finally stopped, back against a builder and he could feel his ribs cracking, his arm broken, he couldn't move and it was hard to breathe… When did she get this strong, he wondered.

"Sakura-chan!" Naruto ran to her aid, holding her shoulders in place as she tried to stand up, clutching to her side as she continued the treatment. "Are you stupid?!" He yelled as she just looked at him and grinned, witness to the pool of tears the blonde was trying to hold back.

"I'm fine…" She said as she broke away from his touch and started limping towards Sasuke's body.

She found him grunting on the floor, her forehead inches away from his as she kneeled on the opposite side he was lying to.

"Please, stop this…" She said with a sincere smile on her face as tears ran freely, "Please." She begged, "I don't want to have to choose… Because if it ever comes down to that, I'm going to have to kill you." She pressed her forehead to his, pink hair dipping into the blood around his head and lacing with his black hair.

The Uchiha chuckled as she stayed there, looming quietly over his face and he understood… he finally understood this is how things were meant to be.
