"Unless what?"

"Unless I marry him.."

Jane shot Maura a half smile. Not a happy one, but not a sad one either. All Maura could get out, was air. What did she just hear? This scene replayed automatically itself in her head. Maura closed her half open mouth and took a step back. Looking at the floor. "What are you going to do?" She managed to get out. Jane shook her head. The truth was; she didn't know what to do. Jane Rizzoli for the first time in many months; Speechless. A tear rolled down Maura's cheek, but she wasn't quickly enough to wipe it before the raven haired woman just a few meters in front of her had noticed. "Maura..? What's wrong?" Jane asked worriedly, laying a hand on Maura's shoulder.

Maura flinched away at the human contact and continued the conversation. "What's wrong..?" Maura looked at Jane like she was some kind of Idiot. "What's wrong.!? What's wrong is that you have the option to choose either if you want to get married or not to a bastard that only comes back from Afghanistan to sleep with you and then first the next morning, THEN he tells that he's going to leave. Are you going to spend the rest of you're LIFE on someone who doesn't deserve you?!"

Maura had to catch her breath. Jane didn't dare to reply. She wanted to hear what Maura had to say. "You can't marry him, Jane!" Maura said a little bit louder than she intended too, and Jane was now the one to take a step back. "..Why?" Jane didn't quite catch Maura's words. She had so Many questions. "Don't you get it?" The blonde answered. "I can marry who I want, Maura. I know were best friends, but I don't know any more. I think we've grown apart." Maura stepped forward, cupping Jane's face into her hands. "Just don't do anything stupid, maybe this will help your decision." Maura leaned towards Jane, no regrets as she crashed into her lips for a kiss that may have lasted in seconds, but to them, years. Maura let go of Jane's face, tearing up, saying a little almost unnoticeable 'Excuse me' before leaving an extremely shocked and flattered Jane Clementine Rizzoli, staring as Maura escaped through the same air they once breathed.

This happens when you don't have a life and it's little over midnight . Thoughts?
