WhenWorlds Collide
LEPrecon had called Artemis down to Haven to help them work on a new project. Of course it wasn't the LEP's idea, it was Foaly's. He had insisted that he needed another genius to help him. (Yes, he had used the word 'help,' though of course he won't admit it.)
Foaly and Artemis were trying to create a phone, but it wasn't just any phone though….it was a phone to contact the other world. (Foaly had a theory on it, of course he told Root that he had proof, other wise Root would have thrown him bodily out the door.)
"Pass me that laser, mud boy," Foaly grunted.
"I told you! It's Artemis!" he snapped as he handed the laser over.
"Yeah, yeah," Foaly answered distractedly.
Butler cracked his knuckles menacingly.
Foaly swallowed nervously, "Right. Sorry, Artemis."
Holly grinned. Root had made her stay and keep an eye on the trio. "In case they tried to take over the world, or worlds or what ever geniuses do when they get these dangerous ideas." Root had told Holly as he chewed on his fungus cigar.
The door to the lab swung opened and slammed against the wall, "Well?" A voice barked, it was Root.
"We're still working," Artemis replied calmly.
"Huh!" Root grunted, "You would have thought with you two geniuses you would have figured it out by now!"
Butler broke in before either Artemis or Foaly could reply, "Master Fowl is one of the best. All he needs is a little time and he will figure it out. Remember the kidnapping of Holly? The rescuing of his father? Defeating the B'Wall? The Cube? Have you forgotten all those things that Master Fowl has accomplished? Or what Foaly has done for your kind? If not for his genius intechnology our race would have caught up with yours."
Root, for once was speechless, but it didn't last long, "Fine! All I was say-"
"I got it!" Artemis yelled.
They all crowded around him.
Artemis explained very excitedly, "All right all I have to do is connect this wire with this one and push this button and-" their world was ripped out from under their feet.
