Some established Nallen fluff to heal this horrible case of the Mondays I have. School has recently started and I am trying to get back to my normal schedule, which isn't going so well at the moment. But with my little ramble aside here's the story! Short I know but it's been bugging me and I just needed to write it down.

Don't forget to leave a review- I love hearing what you think!

I own nothing.

Blue

She never really realized how much she loves the color blue until she meets him. It reminds her of the ocean and the waves that lap the shore as they sit with their toes skimming the surface. It reminds her of the sky, soft wispy clouds floating above and the way they like to make shapes out of them. It also reminds her of his eyes and how easy it is to get lost in the two pools of sapphire. When asked she says it's the first thing she noticed, and she's taken back to the day when he smiled and asked her for her name. She had blushed and stumbled over her words before she finally managed to give a reply.

And tonight, blue is the color of her dress, knee length with an orange sash wrapped around her waist. And it's the color of the ring that's nestled in a black felt box that rests in the palm of his hand. Callen says it's different, like her and like him and she absolutely loves it. The words escape his lips as a mere whisper as he takes her hand in his own.

"I want you to promise me that no matter what happens, you know that I love you and that is never going to change. Marriage isn't for me but I don't want that to stop us from being happy." He takes a deep breath and plucks the ring from the box, gently sliding it onto her finger. "So I'm asking you to stay with me, because I don't think I can be without you. I want you to promise me." He says again, firmer than before but with a tenderness that makes her smile.

Nell feels the air leave her lungs and her mouth forms a small o. It's not what she expected, but when she sees the ring on her finger and she meets his perfect eyes, she swears she can see the shine of tears reflecting in the light.

"I promise." She says, taking his warm, calloused hand in her own once more. He smiles and the corners of his eyes crinkle like they always do. His lips are warm and they taste like red wine, which settles on her tongue as she smiles into the kiss. His hand brushes her waist as they sway in each others arms and it doesn't even matter that there isn't any music. The contact sends a chill up her spine, and her breath catches in her throat. He always did that to her. His lips brush against her ear and his voice is gravelly as he speaks.

"I know it's not what you wanted.." He says, leaving the sentenced unnfinished as he glances at her with questioning eyes.

"It's perfect." she whispers, laying her head on his chest as they continued to move. She can hear his heart, even, perfect beats that sound like a song beneath his skin. She hears him exhale in a sigh of relief and she's reminded once more how much she loves the color blue.
