His mind began to spin as he felt the sounds of metal clattering all around him. It confused him to see that the whole area he was in was completely black. He had begun to think he died and was now sitting in the void, waiting to be reborn. To test, he pinched himself in the thigh, quite hard with the tips of his fingers. He yelped in pain as the shock spread out through that spot.

"okay.. Guess I'm not dead.." He murmured to himself. If he wasn't dead, where in the world was he? As he finally noticed the box was going up and the clanging noise outside, he had a thought.

Is this an elevator? Wait- of course not. That seemed stupid enough to him. Why would he be in a elevator and why would the lights all be off? It seemed like hours since he had first woken up all though it was probably only ten minutes. Would yelling for help do any good? He'd just have to try.

"HEEEEEELLLPPPP!" He shouted at the top his lungs, looking up at the ceiling, feeling like his vocal chords has just ripped.

He suddenly felt a sensation of nausea. oh man, don't puke He thought, being more sick by the minute.

The "elevator" came to a stop at last.

At those moment, he felt so much happiness that the torture was finally over. Now all he had to do was find a way out.

He turned to one of the walls and pushed on it, expecting a door to magically open. He furrowed his brows in frustration before trying this three other times, all attempts turning out as a fail. "are you kidding m-"

Above him, doors starting sliding open, letting sunshine peer through the box. Now he could see that there were no doors whatsoever.

A wave of embarrassment flooded through him even though it hadn't been like anyone was watching him.

He looked up to figures staring down at him. He backed up against the wall, trying to hide from being seen. He was stupid enough to think that'd actually work.

Murmurs came from the people above. He tried listening to what each conversation was about but couldn't make out any words. They were all overlapping each other, almost giving him a nagging headache.

Next thing he knew, a rope came down.

At the bottom was a loop that had been tied. He looked up in confusion.

"Grab the rope, slinthead!" One of them hollered down.

He stood up and grabbed onto the rope, putting his foot into the loop. He was pulled up by at least two people at the end.

Once he was high enough to get onto the ground, he placed a hand onto the stone ground and pulled his foot out of the loop and then pulled himself up onto the ground, sitting there, clueless.

"You gonna get up?" Asked a boy with neck length blond hair.

He stood up and shifted his stance, nervously as if expecting instructions.

"Welcome to the glade, greenie!" The same boy said to him.

"Thanks..?" He said in a low, weak sounding voice. "And why are you calling me greenie?"

"It's what we call the newbies. If you don't like the name, don't worry. Next month, there'll probably be another boy coming and then he'll be known as the greenie. But, it'd help if you could at least tell me your name when that time does come"

Name.. His name..? He couldn't remember, in fact he couldn't remember anything.

But then, a word came to his mind. Blake.

"Blake" He said, looking confused.

"Huh, well it's nice to meet you Blake. Mine name is Newt and if you have any questions, you can ask me anytime! Expect for when I'm sleeping and bad times, that's it"

Blake nodded.

"Nice to meet you too, Newt" he said with an innocent smile.

He'd definitely have to get to know everyone else later.
