Kenshin As A Snack Food

by manga, the Awesome One in pigtails.

"Oi, Jou-chan! Is it lunch yet?!" Sano's trademark call echoed around the empty dojo yard as he strode in through the gates. "Oi, where are you?"

"We're in here, Sano," Kenshin waved from the door of the dojo.

"What's going on?" Sano asked as he walked across the yard. "It's awfully quiet. Kaoru didn't manage to kill Yahiko, did she?" His answer was a swift bokken to the head.

"SANO!" Kaoru glared. "I only hit him for his own good!"

"More like because you don't have any self control, busu," Yahiko retorted.

"YAHIKO!"

"Maa, maa," Kenshin said, trying to calm then down before everything degenerated as it normally did. It didn't look like it was going to work any more than it had ever worked, but Sano interuppted.

"Oi, what's this?" he asked, waving a small brightly colored box.

"They're special treats from manga," Kaoru said, snatching the box from his hands. "And if you -behave- I might let you have some."

"Manga?" Sano blinked questioningly.

"A new otaku," Yahiko shrugged.

"Ye gods," Sano muttered. "Just what we need, another one."

"I think she's nice," Kaoru said indignantly. "Not everyone brings us presents you know."

Sano grinned. "You're so easily bribed, Jou-chan."

"Do you want to have some or not?" Kaoru asked, glaring at Sano.

"Gomen, gomen," Sano apologized quickly. "Anything for food." Kaoru continued to glare at him, but opened the box anyway. Yahiko and Sano instantly reached out to snatch as much as they could, but Kaoru smacked their hands away. With a sharp "behave!" look, she shook a handful into everyone's hands then took one for herself.

"What are they?" Sano asked, peering at the colorful shapes.

"Look! They look like us!" Kaoru squealed cheerfully. "This one's me," she said, holding up a translucent green jelly-like figure that did indeed resemble her, even if it was slightly squashed. Everyone else immediately started inspecting their handfuls. With a faint "Oro?" Kenshin held up a red one, then with a triumphant shout Yahiko brandished a yellow one. Sano poked around in his handful until he found a white one and held it up for inspection. They crowded around as Kaoru layed the jellies out on the lid of the box for inspection.

The resemblances were hardly remarkable since the little jellies were rather squashed, but it was easy enough to tell. Kaoru's had a kimono and a high ponytail, Yahiko's had spiky hair and a shinai, Sano's had a headband and a fishbone, and Kenshin's had a small x scar and a sword (presumably a sakaba) at his side.

"What are they?" Sano repeated as they all looked on in confusion.

Kenshin shrugged, his brow furrowing slightly. "She called them Kenshin-gumi bears."
