Falling... He was falling. Hans's eyes shot open. It was just a nightmare. He sat up, breathing heavily. He looked over and saw his princess, Anna sleeping next to him. She was sleeping so soundly, he wouldn't dare wake her up. He wanted to go back to sleep but couldn't, for fear the nightmare would return. The thought of the dream being recurring made Hans's heartbeat speed up and his breathing heavy until the red-haired Prince was caught in the middle of a full on panic attack. His vision started blurring to the point he thought he would blackout. Hans could hear his heart beating rapidly. He felt like his chest was gonna explode. Hearing whimpering, Anna woke up and found her beloved Prince Hans collapsing. Shaking her head to try and clear the spell of shock that had come over her, she put her hands on Hans's shoulder and held him close.
"Hey, hey! You're okay! You're okay! I'm here. I got you!"
She reassured.
He was shaking in her arms. This just happened to Hans sometimes. Anna was used to it.
"Hey, it'll be over soon."
Hans nodded, heart still pounding. He felt like he was going to die.
"An-Anna-ah"
he managed to breathe out.
"Help..."
Anna nodded but there wasn't really anything she could do. She held him close and he grabbed onto her shirt and held on as it it were for dear life. Anna ran her hand through his hair and sighed. After a few minutes of sweating and heavy breathing, the panic attack passed. Anna lifted his head up until she was looking into his eyes.
"See, you're okay now."
Hans put his head on her shoulder.
"But what about next time? Will you be there next time?"
Anna nodded. She didn't really know if she would be with him next time his anxiety consumed him but she was determined to convince Hans otherwise.
"Of course, I'm never gonna leave your side."
He smiled as Anna pulled him in even closer. Anna laughed a little as the sun came up and shone a soft light into the room.
"Do you promise?"
"Yes, I promise."
And she meant it.
