Having written this monstrosity, I'm note sure what to say about it. Bluntly, it is the result of a long-standing affair between myself and Angaráto/Angrod, my favorite character in The Silmarillion. Thoroughly disatisfied with the pitance of fanfics out there featuring him, in which he plays second-fiddle to his siblings and other, more illustrious relatives, I set out to bring my Angaráto to life, the one lurking behind the few words Tolkien wrote. Like my other great loves, the Fëanorians, not everything that came to light was flattering, but (I find) it was real, and meant something, and hopefully those who read this will too.

I should also acknowledge the contribution made by the Silmarillion Writers' Guild's Season of Writing Dangerously, which challanged authors to set a goal and reach it between June 21 and September 23; without that impetus, most if not all, of these pieces would have languished in the back of my brain, never to see the light of day. For any fans who have not yet heard of the SWG, check it out; it's a wonderful place. (For anyone who cares, I met all my goals for the SoWD.)

For anyone out there who read(s) my other works and fears that the update rate for this piece will be the same as for my other (ongoing) stories, let me lay your fears to rest: this is a completed work. That's right: every chapter (with the exception of the things marked as separate stories) has been written. I'll post a chapter a week, barring Unforseen Complications (they can happen). The other exception is this week, as I find the idea of posting nothing but the table of contents a bit silly. :)

Asterisks mark mature-themed pieces.

For FanFiction dot Net: in the case of this story, I find that a Table of Contents is critical story input, as it gives readers an idea of what they're walking in to in terms of rating. The whole story does not deserve a mature rating, but some of the chapters will, so I want that to be clear before those chapters are opened.
