These will all be non-connected one-shots centered around one or two characters per one-shot that I've decided to write (I have writer's block on my other fic). This first one is based on the fact that I can't manage to make hot cocoa cool enough to not burn myself. -.- Anyway, I'll post another one when I get inspiration and time. Enjoy!
Hot Chocolate And Ice Cream
The doorbell cut through the near silence of the boarding house and Damon Salvatore bolted down the stairs, a frown becoming plastered on his face when he saw the snow falling outside. Snow? Wasn't it June? He blamed global warming. Damon swung the door open to reveal Jeremy Gilbert, one of the only four or five humans left in Mystic Falls. "What?" He snapped. His mood wasn't exactly spectacular, and Elena would kill him if he even touched a hair on her brother's head.
"It's cold out," captain obvious pointed out. "And I was on my way to the Grill, but it was a shorter walk here."
The vampire's frown deepened. "Why couldn't you just drive? You have your license, don't you?"
Jeremy shrugged. "Elena borrowed my car because hers wouldn't start. She, Caroline and Bonnie wanted to go shopping in Richmond."
It was known that the doppelganger had a death wish, but at least Caroline and Bonnie were with her. Why her baby brother had suddenly shown up, however, was a mystery. "So you decided to walk to the Grill in a blizzard?" Again, it's June. What the hell is going on with this weather?
He nodded. "Matt and I were going to play pool. Can I use your phone?" Damon was about to ask why he couldn't just use his cell when he spoke again. "Mine died."
The vampire rolled his eyes. "Fine, come in. Learn to keep your phone charged." He stepped aside to let the shivering human pass him. "Do you need anything? Milk? Cookies? Hot cocoa?"
Jeremy's eyes lit up. "You have hot cocoa?"
Damon rolled his eyes again and headed toward the kitchen, opening a cupboard and pulling out two mugs when he enters. "Marshmallows?" He asks sarcastically, pouring chocolate powder into one of the mugs.
The human nodded, ignoring his tone, and picked up the phone from when it had been discarded on the counter the day before, dialing the ten digits. "Hey, Matt," he said when the bus boy picked up. "Can we take a rain check on the game? I got detoured to the boarding house." There was a pause when Matt replied. "Yeah, it just came out of nowhere. One day sun, the next day this." Damon plopped a few marshmallows in each mug and nudged Jeremy's arm, a signal to wrap up the conversation. "I gotta go. Yeah, no, Damon made hot chocolate. Later."
There was a beep as he hung up and the vampire passed him a mug. A pained howl split the air as the liquid hit Jeremy's tongue. "Ow! It's hot!"
Damon mumbled to himself. "Yeah, it's called hot chocolate."
"I burned my tongue!"
It's official. Elena was going to kill him because he gave Jeremy hot chocolate. A bowl and spoon were on the counter in less than five seconds and the human looked over to see Damon closing the freezer door, a carton of chunky monkey in hand. The fact that Jeremy was fanning his mouth with his hand caused him to disregard the bowl. "Here, this should help. If you get brain freeze, stick your thumb on the roof of your mouth." He added, demonstrating. "Like this."
The human took the spoon and ice cream from him quickly, shoveling two spoonfuls into his mouth before smiling slightly.
"Better?" Damon asked.
Jeremy nodded. "Better."

This. Is what happens. When I get extremely bored. Do you like it? Hate it? Think I should go die in a ditch? Well, last group, F U too. Take a minute to review? Or just favorite, or alert... or something. Anyway, I hope you liked reading it as much as I liked writing it!
Peace In!
