They try to catch a falling star...

Thinking that she had gone too far...

~ Northern Star by Melanie C

He looked out the window, watching the rain clump together in rivulets, streaming down the glass. Outside, lightning flashed, thunder growled; throughout the mansion, all was silent.

The Assistant Master was out with Minameo and Benimaru, leaving he, the Vice-Captain, alone. Well, not quite.

He wasn't alone.

As long as she was here.

He would never be alone.

"Saicho-kun?" The dark-haired male turned his head and acknowledge the newcomer to the dimly-lit room. Like a fresh flower plucked from heaven's garden, like an angel from up above. A shining light, his saviour...

"Misora-san..." She smiled at him, her chocolate-brown eyes twinkling in the flickering candlelight. She approached him barefooted, her footsteps a silent echo on the parquet flooring. Her shoulder-length hair was free from the bandanna usually omnipresent on her forehead. Her white dress hugged her body to her waist before it flared like a blossoming flower to her ankles.

An untouchable angel, so near and yet so distant.

A bright flash of lightning and then the harsh crack of thunder. Her Hershey eyes shut tight, palms cupping her ears, jaw clenched.

"Daijoubu?" Warm, sinewy arms encased her in a delicate embrace. He smiled, even his angel had weaknesses.

His?

He blushed at the chauvinistic possessive inclination.

Her tense body relaxed within his arms and her own pair of limbs encircled his waist. Saicho stroked her hair, feathery strands that felt like silk. He breathed in her scent. Fresh lavender.

Forever.

Eternity.

They would remain like this.

Souls bonded together and hearts intertwined, a story of true love... till death do us part.

Author's Notes: ARGH!!! This was meant to be *VERY* much longer, but my *bleeping* muse left me again and look now, it doesn't even *sound* right. *sighs*
