25. In the morning

Chris is a breakfast in bed type of guy, Jeff discovers pretty quickly and it's something he enjoys even though he so rarely enjoys seeing breakfast, as it tends to come before noon, a time he has always detested.

Jeff is surprised when Chris calls to break off their date one night, only to show up the next morning on his doorstep with a waffle iron and a big grin on his face.

He squints into the sunlight, trying to figure out if he drank too much the night before with Matt and Shannon and he's finally losing his mind or if his boyfriend is really standing there in front of him holding a small kitchen appliance.

Chris just smiles at him even brighter, not even seeming to care that Jeff is barely conscious because as he puts it, Jeff is cuddlier when he's asleep.

"Why are you here?" Jeff manages to ask, tilting his head to the side and rubbing his eyes licking the remnants of syrup from the corners of his lips.

Chris leans over to kiss him softly on the lips, grinning wickedly. "I like your taste best in the morning, and this way we got to avoid the awkward wondering of who was going to stay or go. That's why I think that morning dates are the best."

Jeff grins, returning the kiss he stands up and leads Chris to the bedroom, shoving him down on the bed and climbing on top of him for another, deeper kiss.

"Funny you should say that, because I was going to suggest that you spend the night tonight, and then tomorrow morning we can have another date," he told Chris, grinning almost wolfishly.

Chris laughs, tilting his head back before leaning up for another kiss, rolling them quickly so that Jeff is under him and rocking his hips lazily against the other man's.

He dips his head for a taste of Jeff's collarbone and chuckles when Jeff's back arches purely out of reflex.

"A morning date it is," Chris smiles, and it is filled with pure happiness.
