64 years ago today. Wow. Bless those heroes.

"Easy Company! Let's go!"

"We have to go, Dane," George whispered as he held onto his sister. "No," she whimpered with her face buried in his shoulder.

"Dog Company!"

She gasped as her company was called out. Still holding onto each other, Dana looked at her twin brother. "You be careful George. I'll be seeing you," she whispered as tears began to well up in her chocolate brown eyes.

Unable to let her brother see her like this she gave him a quick peck on the cheek and wobbled off to her plane. George quickly wobbled away too while clearing his throat in an attempt to choke back the little sobs that threatened to escape his lips.

The plane rumbled as it got closer to its destination. George was being unusually quiet but the guys knew what-or who- he was worried about. Guarnere nudged him, "Don't worry about it. She's going to be fine, she's a tough kid. George's fearful face didn't change from Bill's positive words. "She's going to be fine," Guarnere said again with certainty.

"Stand up!" Winters yelled over the explosion. "Hook up! Check equipment! Sound off for equipment check!" The plane shook violently as the men fell to the floor. George struggled to get up as he looked out the window just in time to see a plane erupt into flames.

"Luz, we gotta jump!" Grant shouted as he grabbed him and pushed him to the front. George jumped out the door with the burning plane still in his mind.

Yes, its incredibly short, but its just a test to see how this story is gonna do. I'm updating my other stories too, don't worry about it. Reviews are encouraged. :)
