What if a tribute was sent from a unknown distrisct? What if she competes and leaves her family?well find out

I woke up scared and afraid. It was now going to be the 75th hunger games and even tough district 13 were not involved we were forced to watch the readings of all other districts.

Out of bed I struggled to my feet landing on the bare cold forest floor. Hoping to be ready before my sisters and brother awoke. I shuffled over to the fireplace covered with charred wood from last nights dinner. Onto the fire I threw some fresh logs and twigs to keep it burning then I set it. The Flames burst up and I began to prepare for the day.

I went over to the dresser and grabbed a green tank top some black pants and my hunting shoes. I threw them on and dashed quietly out the door. I fetched a few arrows from my buried stash and a long hand carved bow .Off I set into the woods.

During my hunt I had shot a rabbit two raccoons and one snail. Not my best day but it would be enough. I gather a few berries and flowers to go along with today's meals. As I was setting off one of my sisters Luka jumped down from a tree branch. I stumbled back and almost fell into the cold icy river." what do you think your doing?" I screamed at the top of my lungs. Being the supporter for my family had made me become quite a mother like figure. She replied in a hushed tone "mother was hitting and yelling at Luke again." I thought about how much that poor child endured from our drunken mother. I hugged her tight and didn't let go.

After 2 minutes we ran back home. I tripped twice and had so man scratches for not watching were I was going. But I couldn't think about that Luke was being hurt along with the other 7 children. I burst open the door to find my mom screaming "you should get a job you stupid child. Do you expect me to provide for you". Luke was shrived up to beaten to shed one tear.

Right away I took the whip out of her hand." she snapped at me "give that back you mutt" but I ignored here and went to make sure the children were ok and to help Luke. I gave him ice and anything else he needed.

Sadly there was no time for breakfast for we had to go the square. Once we arrived I guided the kids to the table to sign in. So the capitol can make sure we didn't ditch. I dropped all the kids off at there sections and made my way to the 15 year olds.

The capitol representative gave the usual speech of how lucky we are to be able to have the need to send no tribute but for certain occasions. Then she told us the news no one is ever pleased to hear." sense this is the 3rd Quarter Quell we have deiced that district 13 will send a tribute". Everyone gasped at this announcements.

A thousand things went tough my head I began to think," What if I am the tribute?"
