Hey guys, I'm new in this part of the whole fanfiction site. However, I recently watched the lion king (again) with my cousin and was inspired to write a fanfic…although nothing could ever compare to the original…
My Redeemer
Nala, as she finds the only light in her tunnel of darkness. (One-shot)
The sun cast a bronze glow across the horizon and reflected in the lioness's sky blue eyes. The ground was moist as her claws dug into it. She could see the rich green of the grass, something that she had not seen since her childhood. Pride Rock, in the state it was now, was defiantly nothing when compared to what was displayed in front of her.
She caught sight of a shadow moving beneath the safety of the grass and instinctively crouched down, her eyes lustrous at the possibility of finding something that she had been deprived of for so long: food.
Her movements were graceful, yet deadly as she got closer to her prey, getting more excited as she realized it was a warthog, a healthy one at that…ripe and waiting to be consumed.
The warthog was not as dumb as she had predicted, though. He sensed that danger was lurking and looked up, only to face the captivating eyes of his predator.
The scream that escaped his mouth was so shrill that it took her by surprise and she stumbled back in shock and anger that she had been so careless as to be seen.
She released a real roar and launched into full speed, trying to grab at the heals of the hysterical animal in front of her. She suppressed her laugh as he got stuck between some branches.
"She's gonna eat me!" She heard him scream and saw a meerkat trying to help the warthog.
She was about to move in for the kill, but was interrupted by a force pushing her back. Her eyes narrowed as she looked into the eyes of her attacker…a lion.
She immediately released her claws swiftly marking his cheek. He growled and bared his teeth. The fight became more and more frantic as tension reached an all time high.
He pushed at her with all of his force and managed to knock her over. The lioness, however, used the technique that she had practiced since she was a cub. Pushing up with her hind legs, she managed to overthrow the lion and wound up in the superior position he had been in just a few seconds ago.
She saw his eyes light up with confusion.
"Nala?"
She got off him, wondering how her name could escape his lips as though he had said it a hundred times.
"Who are you?"
"It's me…Simba."
Her heart pounded at that word. Never had she ever experienced the joy she felt at that particular moment.
As she ran over to him, Nala couldn't help but notice how the sun, which was setting at slow and controlled pace, illuminated his red mane. He looked almost angelic, and as she felt him nuzzle her cheek, she realized that he was the only one who could help her find her way out of the dark tunnel she was lost in.
She had left to find a savior for her pride…but she never expected to find a savior for herself.
