PAINFUL FACT

Mikan's POV
The whole afternoon I waited for his message. But hours passed he still didn't.
So I went to the place we usually hang out together with his other friends.
I was alone for sometime until Ruka came in.
"Where's Natsume?" he asked.
"I don't know … how would I? I'm not his maid" or his girlfriend.
"Oh okay" he said and bid goodbye.
A few hours passed …
As the door opened wide, I saw HIM.
He came in wearing a rare and heart-melting smile.
I was happy to him wearing a smile like that. I then asked where he had been.
I was sad to know that he spent the whole afternoon with the girl he liked.
But, I congratulated him and talked for a while.
The whole conversation he still wore that smile, a smile that wasn't made because of me or for me.
After that, we walked home together.
As we departed at a corner, he bid goodbye with another rare smile.
"I am only his friend after all" I said to myself as I wiped my tears away.
