Sexy.
Bad Boy.
Disappointment.
Jeremy Darling was a great many things.
Jeremy Darling knew how to smile at a girl in just the right way that would make her panties go damp. He knew the right words to whisper into her ear so those long legs would be wrapped around his waist by the end of the night. His fingers knew just how to twist around inside of her in order to make her scream his name through her glossy pink lips.
Jeremy knew how to spend money. You didn't come from one of the wealthiest families in New York and not know how through a buck around. He never thought twice about throwing away money during poker or spending a nice chunk of change on some nice piece of bling for his most recent girlfriend.
Jeremy Darling knew how to drink. He had learned from Karen, who had given him his first drink at the early age of fifteen. Karen had smiled, placed the glass of scotch in his hand, and told him to pretend that it tasted like Coke. It had tasted better than any soft drink that had ever passed his lips.
Jeremy Darling knew how to use. He knew how to hold the joint and allow the thick, burning smoke to fill up his lungs. He knew how to hold the tube or the tightly rolled up dollar bill between his fingers as he snorted the white powder up. He knew how bloodshot his eyes would get and all the questions he would be bombarded with from his mother later.
Jeremy Darling knew that his mother loved him. He knew that his twin loved him. He knew that Karen, Patrick, and possibly Brian loved him. However he knew that for some reason, his father did not love him. While Tripp showered the most affection on Patrick and Juliet, Jeremy always felt left out in the dust by his father. Apparently, Jeremy would always be a constant disappointment to Tripp.
Jeremy Darling knew all the dirty little secrets that his family tried to hide. He knew about Patrick sleeping with transsexuals, he knew about Brian's illegitimate son, he didn't believe that bullshit about a Swedish orphan for a split second, he knew how Karen pined after Nick still after all these years, and he knew Juliet's addiction to anti-depressants and how she struggled to find her own place. He knew about his mother's affair with Dutch. He thinks sometimes that's why his father doesn't love him. Deep down Jeremy believes that he and Juliet may be his mother and Dutch's love children and that's why his father could never love him. Tripp could love Juliet because she's so much like their mother and Tripp adores Letitia. But every time Tripp looks at Jeremy, he can see Dutch and the betrayal his beloved wife committed.
Jeremy Darling was a misfit.
