When Sai left Hikaru, instead of not playing Go. Hikaru went the other direction and continued to play! " How dare Sai leave him! I'll show him! " was Hikaru's new mantra.

Chapter 1 Sai's Disappearance

"Sai, it's your turn." Pause "Sai... Sai!"

When Hikaru turned his head to look at Sai in frustration, all he could see were a few sparkles of light fading away.

Hikaru didn't care anymore, if Sai didn't want to continue to play then the ghost should have told him. Hikaru was tired from his teaching games. He was going to sleep. And that was what Hikaru exactly did.

He went to his bed, covered himself, and slept tiredly.

When Hikaru woke up, he still felt tired. He blinked and felt that it was too quiet. He looked around and then noticed that Sai was still missing. He tried searching for Sai in all the common places in his house, to the Go institute, to his Grandpa's place, and even went as far as Shusaku's grave. But enough was enough! Sai had left him. Sai had left him alone. Sai had stayed with Torajiro throughout his life, but Sai was only with him for two measly years.

When Hikaru didn't want the ghost, he was constantly there to annoy him. But when he actually wants Sai there, the ghost wasn't anywhere to be found.

"Baka! Sai no Baka!" Hikaru thought in frustration. " How dare Sai leave him! I'll show him! " Hikaru will show Sai, he can still live and play go without him. Sai maybe the one to teach him about the wonders of Go, but it was his will and desire to continue to play Go, that made it possible for him to be at his level now. It was his hands, his body, his existence that was playing Go. He didn't need Sai. Screw him!

Early morning, two young go professional players were waiting for their friend and rival to show up.

"Hikaru was late! Where was he?" Toya Akira thought irately.

"Did he sleep late? Even Toya was here waiting and getting concerned about him!" Waya thought to himself.

Finally just seconds before the start of the game, the one that two impatient young men were waiting for finally appeared.

Akira was about to shout at his rival's face for being late, and Waya was not that far behind in shooting of his own mouth. But when they took a second look at Hikaru, they became at a loss for words.

Their righteous anger died at the appearance of Hikaru. To put it midly, Hikaru looked unwell. Hikaru's hair was limp compared to its normal two-colored appearance. He was very pale. He had big black bags hanging under his eyes. His normal vibrant green eyes, were dull and unfocused. But most of all, what really stopped them in their tracks, was the expression on Hikaru's face. It was of devastation. A face that showed a disturbing mix of depression and anger. Someone not understanding. Continually questioning the world and not finding any answers to the ultimate question as to "Why?"

Why did it happen?
