I don't own Skulduggery Pleasant. At all.

Valkyrie Cain had enemies. Valkyrie Cain had friends.

There is no doubt that Valkyrie Cain was powerful. A Necromancer and an Elemental, she kicked some serious arse in fights. Sometimes she didn't even have to use her magic. It was like, when she was fighting, her inner awesomeness was channelled through her fists.

Valkyrie had achieved a lot in her few years as a Mage. Defeated Faceless Ones, caught bad guys, made it onto numerous hit lists. Found a long lost head. Fought zombies. For these, and more, Valkyrie was famous, kind of like the Justin Beiber of the world of magic. She was young and kind of a noob. Some people liked her, lots of people hated her. But few could deny that she had talent, even though they hated to admit it.

The main difference, though, was that Valkyrie could admit she was a girl, and Justin could not.

Anyway.

Her partner in crime, Skulduggery Pleasant, had taught her most of her awe inspiring skills. Along with Pleasant, she had friends like Tanith Low, Ghastly Bespoke and Fletcher Renn, the last teleporter. This 'team', as the members so affectionally call it, is nearly unstoppable. She was the soul member of Kenspeckle Grouse's list of people he liked. No matter how many times people tried to kill her, she always bounced back.

Yeah, that might be a reason people didn't like her.

I do not apologise for anything any Justin Beiber fan might find offensive. What I said was TRUE, people! I do, however, apologise for lying- Justin Beiber does NOT have any talent.
