Authors Note: This is a drabble I wrote for the lj community ASS_LDWS. This is week seven's entry which couldn't be over 300 words, had to include the word Zealous, and a holiday. Sadly this is the week I got eliminated but I may still continue writing drabbles, who knows.

When Albus mentioned the impending holiday a month earlier, Scorpius cocked his head and said, "You still celebrate that load of crap?"

It had taken Albus completely by surprise. He knew Scorpius wasn't very good at displays of affection but he didn't think he would forbid them from celebrating Valentine's Day.

When February 14th came, Albus sulked his way through work. Valentine's Day was never a big deal to Albus but he never passed up a chance to show Scorpius how much he cared. Scorpius' ban on the holiday made Albus feel a tad wary, like maybe Scorpius didn't want to celebrate the holiday because he just didn't care.

Thinking these thoughts lead to a train of thought that carried both self depreciation and thoughts that Scorpius didn't really love him. By the time he was home and unlocking the door, he felt ready to cry. But as he opened the door Albus gaped at the interior with incredulity.

Every surface of Albus and Scorpius' apartment, was various shades of red, pink, or white.

It took Albus a whole minute to get his brain working again and he stepped cautiously into his apartment shutting the door behind him. As soon as the door shut, a piece of paper on a string dropped from the ceiling in front of Albus' nose.

Follow the rose petals.

Indeed, on the floor in front of him, there were rose petals, leading to only one place…

When he got there, there was Scorpius, sprawled on the bed wearing only a pair of jeans with the waistband of his boxers peeking over the top. Albus smiled ecstatically at Scorpius.

"Well, maybe I got a little over zealous. I just wanted to surprise you," said Scorpius blushing.

"Shut up," Albus said and pounced on his lover.
