'I need to see it... just one last time... the shattered glass, the broken furniture

and Mal.'

It had been three years since Cobb had thought about Mal, been in their memories or seen her. He knew he shouldn't go back but he felt the need to. Standing in the elevator waiting for his fate as each button lit up as he went down, Cobb was regretting his decision. He wanted to wake up but no one at the warehouse for they had left for the night.

The lift shook to a stop as it landed. The iron doors opened slowly revealing the sight he had never forgotten. He cautiously took a step forward, skilfully missing the wine glass he always broke. Cobb sensed and saw no sign of Mal but knew she had been here all those years ago.

He went to the window, the window where she fell. He was too afraid to look down thinking that her crushed body might be somewhere below.

"Don?"

He froze where he stood. That voice. Mal?
