Jayden woke up; it was the middle of the night. He got up and walked into the living room. No one should be up right now but he heard someone crying in kitchen. He quietly walked towards the source of the noise in order to not freak out who ever it was. Silently he opened the door; inside sitting on the ground was Mia. At first he just stood unsure of what to do as her body was racked by sobs. After a minute he walked up to her and sat beside her. Mia looked up at him as he sat down. When she realized it was him she immediately looked away. Jayden wrapped his arms around her and then asked "what's wrong?"
"Nothing," she replied.
"Mia you wouldn't be in here alone crying unless something was wrong." Jayden replied chuckling.
Finally Mia turned and faced him but then lowered her head and said "nothing it's stupid."
"Nothing is stupid if it's upsetting you." Jayden said taking her chin in his hands so she would look at her. "Come on talk to daddy."
At this she couldn't help but laugh, "I'm just homesick that's all," she replied.
"We are your family now Mia if you are felling lonely just come talk to us. Ill... I mean we will always be there for you." What happened next Jayden didn't expect mia jumped into Jayden's arms and hugged him. Jayden just held her as she slowly fell to sleep. Then he picked her up and brought her back to her bed. He then kissed her forehead and left the room.
Emily who had been awake at the time started laughing under her covers. "Wow they are so clueless sometimes" Emily thought to herself as she fell asleep.
