Disclaimer: I own none of the character's used in this piece. It's a work of fiction and I am only using the characters from Sailor Moon and Final Fantasy VII for my own entertainment.
Author's Note: An old drabble that I've always wanted to share but always forgot too. So here it is. A little thing that came from me always wanting to write something with Makoto & Aerith. Reviews are encouraged and appreciated.
A Brief Meeting
Makoto sighed in contentment as she stared out the window. A storm was raging outside and while others disliked it, she adored it. Being the Senshi of Storms did that too you. The way the rain hit the window was soothing and the thunder was music to her ears. Lightning danced across the sky and she longed for the old days on Jupiter when everyday held something different.
The thunder crashed and another streak of lightning flashed in the sky. It only took that second for her to see something reflected in the glass of the window. It certainly wasn't her.
"What the hell?" Makoto blinked, rubbing her eyes as another flash and another image appeared.
A young woman appeared in the glass. Brown hair just a shade or two lighter then her own tied back with a pink ribbon done up in a bow. Makoto moved back in surprise. This wasn't normal. Innocent emerald green eyes blinked back at her. A shiver went through her as she stared at the ghostly image. It scared her how much the woman looked like her. Give or take a few differences, Makoto could have found her doppelganger.
The woman in the glass moved her hand, brushing against the pink fabric covering her stomach. Lightning flashed outside and Makoto blinked. The woman in the image changed. Her hair had fallen from the pink ribbon and an something akin to a crystal orb clattered to the ground. It shouldn't have made a sound when it hit the floor but it had. Before the Thunder Senshi could do anything, the woman's eyes shut as she began to slump forward. Makoto fell to her knees as tears fell from the Senshi's eyes. Blood pooled around the other woman's feet. A red stain appeared on the other woman's stomach as a long thin sword probed through the flesh. In the distance, she heard a maniacal laugh and the tears became all the more unbearable.

Aerith shot up in bed, tears in her emerald eyes. As the thunder clapped and lightning filled the night sky she knew something wasn't right. Than again, nowadays nothing ever was. She couldn't remember the dream that had awaken her and she actually felt grateful. The young flower girl slipped out of bed, shivering as the cold air brushed against her exposed arms. She wiped the wetness from her eyes and hurried to the window, feet soaked from the puddle the rain had left, and closed it. Another flash streaked the sky and she quickly drew the curtains.
She reached for a candle and a match by her dresser, lighting the wick as she turned to her mirror. The flower girl froze, staring at the reflection of the identical image dressed in a green night gown. The other's eyes shown with tears as she reached out a hand first to her stomach and then against the glass. The Cetra closed her eyes for a moment and took in a breath. When she opened her eyes once more, the image was still there, hand outstretched.
Slowly, Aerith took a step closer to the mirror. The other woman's emerald eyes pleaded with her. For what, she wasn't sure. But she took another breath and reached out pressing her palm against the mirror in the same manner as the girl in the mirror.
Lightning flashed and despite the curtains being drawn the light filled the room. The woman in the mirror vanished but not before mouthing a message to the flower girl.
'Take Care.'
