Prologue:
It was dark. No sound, no light, nothing, there was nothing. Am I finally dead? Am I finally getting out of here? It seemed like we had spent an eternity here. I—Germany—was ready to die, but then I would have to stay here. Then there was a scream. More scrams, thousands upon thousands of screams surrounded me. Machine guns were sounding; I heard those showers sound. Oh, no, make it stop. I knew this was the final circle. All those people I killed. I didn't mean to do it: I am so sorry. I was following orders; hesaid my people would become strong again. I have tried to forget. Please, make it end! Then a voice louder than all those screams said, "You knew what you were doing. You knew what was happening. Now you will be here, forever, listening to the screams of your Holocaust victims."
The whole area shook as the voice laughed. "I'm sorry!" I screamed to no one "Forgive me, oh Lord. Please, stop." I put my hands over my ears, but the screams and it all was still three, maybe even louder. I should not have let them go. It all started then.
