Evening everyone! This is for the Fanfiction Exchange MythologyRulz made up. So, yeah.
Bet
"C'mon, dude."
"No."
"Just a week."
"Save it," Alejandro said. Man, Geoff and Bridgette could be a pain. They were trying to bet Alejandro fifty bucks to date Courtney, of all people. Sure, she needed a companion. But she was in law school at the moment, so she was alright right now. "I'm not dating her for a week. That's final."
He turned to leave the area, but Geoff blocked his route out of his (Geoff's) apartment. "One day. I lowered the time. One day with Courtney, then you get the cash, then that's it. Okay?"
"Who knows?" Bridgette thought out loud. "You might want to go longer of your own free will."
Alejandro sighed as he considered the options. "Get me a phone."
Geoff passed him the cordless, Alejandro dialed the number, and soon it was ringing.
Oh, god, Alejandro was thinking.
"Hello?"
Oh god, Alejandro thought again.
"Uh, hi," Alejandro started. "It's me, Alejandro."
"Yes? What is it?"
Oh f***ing god.
"Listen, I was wondering if you'd like to hang out. Grab a soda; catch a movie, something like that."
"Uh…sure. I do need to get out today, anyway. I mean, look! Nothing but sun!"
"Figured you'd like that."
"Yeah, I'll come. Where do you want to meet up at?"
"I'll come pick you up at…"
"The law school library. I was kinda doing research, but I thought, what the hell? One day of break's good enough."
"So I'll come get you?" Alejandro was figuratively peeing himself.
"Yep. Meet you there."
"Great. See you." Alejandro hung up the phone. Geoff came over to see the progress.
"How'd it go?" he asked.
"You. Owe. Me. Big." Alejandro said.
…
He pulled up to the school and saw Courtney outside of the library. She was wearing business casual. Alejandro, on the other hand, wore his trademark red shirt.
"Special occasion?" he asked as she hopped into the car.
"Nah," she says. "Just have to look my best, even on days off."
"Yeah." They were silent for a few moments. "Do you want to go anyplace special? Diner, theater, other?"
"Oh my gosh! Yeah!" Courtney was looking pretty excited. "There's this movie, 'Natural Care'! I wanted to go see it, but I never got the time."
"Say no more," Alejandro turned his wheel down a road to the theater. "I'm on it. My treat."

Over the course of the trip to the theater, they discussed many things. Turns out they shared multiple interests; Alejandro and Courtney both enjoyed a form of classic, loved the color red, both slandered Chris McLean, the sadist host from a few years ago. They had fun.
And during the movie, they were holding hands.
…
The next day, Alejandro and Courtney were at the park.
"Ah, Spring. Nothing better than the colors of a new season," Alejandro stated.
"Yeah," Courtney sighed lovingly. "It's so nice."
Alejandro smiled at her, while at the same time holding the fifty bucks in his pocket.
Turns out the bet could last longer, after all.
